I DO NOT REMEMBER WHO TOLD ME.
If you did, let me know so I can add credit.
BUTTTTTT if you don’t know this tip you aren’t fully living up to your full eye pad potential.
This tip is so easy it’s laughable & just makes a world of difference: put your eye pads in the REFRIGERATOR !!! HOW EASY. It makes such a difference because they’re cold & chilled.
I leave them there. Just sitting in the fridge. Each morning: TA-DA !!! Chilled eye pads just for me.
You KNOW we are all about the eye pads on The Skinny Confidential.
Like just a real crazy person when it comes to my morning routine of eye pads.
Every morning I wake up & IMMEDIATELY slap on a pair, under my eyes.
I feel like a real fucking connoisseur when it comes to swelling.
It all started after double jaw surgery when I was perpetually swollen every morning. I tried everythinggggggg. Eye pads helped a lot…they also help with a hangover but that’s a whole different story.

For the record I’m not faithful to any brand. I mix it up. Right now I like these cucumber cooling ones but it changes all the time. I prefer the soothing, cooling cucumber ones to the 24k gold because sometimes the gold ones fall down my face. The cucumbers are nice & perky, just how I like it. Collagen ones are nice too if anyone has any recommendations?
Ok so when I do my eye pad routine, I fully commit.
They’re on for as long as humanly possible or until they start running down my face like a slob. I’ve been known to even wear them in public? A lot?
Really though I’m very much guilty of rocking eye pads underneath huge-ass sunglasses while I pump gas, grab coffee, &/or run to the market.
You know, just living here guys.
Another thing: ice rolling while they’re on ( like around them ). If you’re like me & get swollen THIS IS THE TRICK OK? Right now I’m using my ice roller as opposed to plastic ( I am constantly trying new things so always trying to find what works BEST FOR YOU GUYS ). I like it because it holds the cold for longer.
Ok on that note, I am off to eat spicy pasta. A lot of pasta. Gotta squeeze those carbs in before the end of the year…
Please make SURE you’re following along on Snapchat because I’m doing 12 days of giveaways & we have 4 days to go…!!! @laurynevarts.
Until next time, lauryn x
+ more like this? But of course: ice roller details & why I’m obsessed with ice facials while traveling.

Never too late to start! Happy New Years! xx
Yes!!!!!!!! Love that you got the Banish ice roller and that your are LOVING it!!! I swear by it as well and think is the best on the market. So stoked you are finding success with it. Cant wait to try the Cucumber eye pads. I’m seriously lacking in that area, and need to step it up!! thanks for the tips!!!
ps) put any of your eye creams in the fridge. The when you go to lightly tap on your fav eye cream you don’t only get the benefit/key claims from it, but you get the added bonus of cooling (de-puffing) your under eye area. Its a great trick for taking down any sort of darkness or puff before
applying makeup. I really like MAC Cosmetics Fast Response Eye Cream which contains caffeine and almost instantly helps to reduce puff as well as create a smooth velvety finish under the eye. xoxox
It’s such a life changer! Thanks for the tip Julie I’ll have to try that! xx
I use Espresso and Vitamin E infused eyepads in the AM and they are to die…seriously.
that sounds amazing! what brand are they?
I’ll have to give that a try! xx
Hey Lauryn! Definitely in need of an under eye routine to combat these awful bags. Do you know of or recommend something less expensive? Thank you 🙂
Anything with either some retinol, vitamin e, or c are great for the under eyes. Origins Ginzing Eye Cream is amazing as well as the Clinique All About Eyes. Hope that helps! xx
I just ordered this ice roller. I always immediately purchase everything you recommend, I love your blog! Do you have any other tips for swelling/inflammation in general? I had a rhinoplasty about 3 weeks ago and my nose is huge! The only thing I know of is Arnica pills that I got from my surgeon. Do you have any other tricks/tips? Thanks! xoxo
Thanks so much Kate! How are you liking it? A cold compress or some ice is always a good way to reduce swelling and it will feel amazing especially after surgery. Also herbal tea is a natural anti-inflammatory 🙂 xx
Could you do a follow up about your jaw surgery? Are you glad you went through with it? I’d love to hear more.
It was the BEST decision. It was worth all the pain because I feel SO much better. Will definitely get started on a post. Thanks for all of the support Kate : ) xx
I like your article. Thanks for sharing.

I am going to go out and buy the cucumber ones when I finish the ones I have currently. Have you tried PTR Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches? There the ones I’m using now & I love them, putting them in the fridge when I get home because that’s an awesome tip 🙂
Ohhoo no but I will for sure try them, thanks for the tip Allison. x
I am using these pads to soothing my eyes and I absolutely love them. Thanks a lot for the great article.
