Witchy, Creepy Martinis…BUT TOTALLY GUILT-FREE.

BOO!

How witchy are these black martinis?!

First off, whenever I see black plastic spiders at the grocery store, I get literal goosebumps because they represent the best time of year: pumpkin season!

Secondly, I love, love, love hosting Halloween parties. I’m seriously Tori Spelling on crack when it comes to anything festive so it’s no surprise that during Halloween season “The Monster Mash” is playing, I have a full on cauldron ( you know one of those black plastic finds ) with dry ice witch’s brew brewing, AND I even have carved white pumpkins sitting in the windows. Full-blown holiday psycho.

BASICALLY I GO ALL OUT.

Especially on Halloween cocktails.

This recipe is specifically my favorite BECAUSE it’s sooooo low cal. In all honesty, October is one of those months where summer is a memory & pumpkin bread is in full force, so I’m not exactly feeling my June-bikini best. That’s why October calls for skinny, clean, & fresh cocktails, you know? No need for extra calories with all the extra FESTIVE CARBS.

Because of this, any cocktail I make has to be skinny style, so I use Skinnygirl® Vodka ( but guys, for this recipe I used the TANGERINE with natural flavors, aka going along with that orange-ish theme for fall ). Yum!

This recipe is one that I made up last Halloween & it really does just have all components:

The Skinny Confidential BLACK WIDOW MARTINI

2 ounces of Skinnygirl® Tangerine Vodka
1/3 pomegranate juice
1/2 lemon, juiced
1-2 drops of black food coloring
Frozen cranberries
Red sugar

Directions: add everything but frozen cranberries and red sugar to a martini shaker. Shake & pour over chilled glass with red sugar rim (use lemon to line rim before you dip in sugar). Add frozen cranberries ( perfect to use as ice too! ) & throw a couple of black plastic spiders in the martini for a fun, spooky touch.

While drinking this I like to wear black lipstick so I feel extra Elvira. Also, any leftover plastic spiders end up in Michael’s beard/hair while he’s sleeping. Duh.

Cheers to fall!

  1. I love this!!! I am a huge Halloween fan and I look forward to all the creepy inspired drinks & decor each year. I love that you made this black, so perfect! I have a bunch of old chemistry glassware that flasks to use for our party this year, I will have to give this a try 🙂 Thanks for sharing this!

  2. Loving the Halloween vibe 😉 Something I might do with those frozen cranberries is boil them in a pot with a little sugar and use the syrup as a natural cranberry flavouring! Might take some extra work but will complement the tangerine vodka you picked out really nicely <3
