It’s cringe worthy to hear this: “I’m on vacation! Why would I workout?!”

Ugggghhh..Don’t use vacation time to justify laziness {!!!}.

Reasons to Workout on Vacation:

+ Be a better “vacation-er.” Without a daily workout, you’re more irritable, stressed, & bloated.

+ Eating & drinking. Since you’re bound to over-eat/drink, you may as well get in an hour sweat sesh.

+ Time, time, & more time. There’s so much downtime; use some of it to your health’s advantage.

+ Workouts enhance the trip. Michael & I made a huge effort to do an hour in the gym each day. If we were lazy pigs, the trip wouldn’t have been as memorable.

+ Just because. Because why wouldn’t you?

Hope you all enjoy this peak inside my scrapbook! Oh, & don’t forget to enter the Nike giveaway for the cutest shoes ever- it ends next week.

P.S. Throughout the trip I wore Lulu*s [ obsessed with their clothing- it’s reasonably priced & supa, supa cute ]. My Cabo outfits can be found here: Chaser tees, floral high-to-low skirt, & dark blue jumpsuit.

Besides working out, dressing fab enhances vacation time too ; ).

  1. I absolutely agree. My boyfriend and I just took a weekend trip to Vermont and we made sure to make it as active as possible – 10 mile bike ride, hiking, and horseback riding, even hitting the gym at the inn we were staying at. We were definitely happier, and enjoyed our trip so much more!

  2. I think it’s because some people hear the word “workout” and they think of something they don’t like so they look at a vacation as a time to get away from doing it. I find on vacation I probably get more of a workout than my daily workouts at home. When we go away we tend to walk everywhere, we do a lot more nature and outdoor activities and we’re just more active all day.

  3. Not to mention incorporating exercise in vacation is easy & you get to see more. Like Kristyn did…walk, bike, run through the local neighborhods…you often find great places/views you would have missed otherwise!

    1. I did an hour of cardio each day (on the elliptical)! A Pilates DVD is fab while on vacay too ; ). xo

  4. I’m not on vacation, but after reading this post I got up and ran a couple of miles. I absolutely love your “tough love” attitude. Thanks for inspiring us Lauryn!! 🙂

    1. Yay! Thanks Teri! I love that you’re inspired. You are inspiring me to get up and workout now !! ; ) xo

  5. I totally agree, but when in a fabulous place like Cabo, why workout in a gym? You have a beautiful beach to run on, or the city itself, and though a little crazy I even ran the roads outside our resort. Running is the best way to see a new town or city, provided you do it as safely as possible (with mace or a boyfriend who can take care of both of you).

    1. It was way too hot when we were there! 102 degrees…I wish we could have ran outside though! : ).
