Why I’m Nuts for Nuts

20131011-204606.jpg

You’re absolutely nuts if you don’t love nuts.

They’re honestly one of the best snacks ever.

And still I hear people say “OMG there’s so much fat in nuts.”

Yes. There’s fat in nuts. Healthy fats. Not sick-o fats. This isn’t circa 1995 where fat-free is cool.

Because honestly? Fat-free crap is crap. It’s full of chemicals.

However coconuts, avocados, and of course, nuts contain zero chemicals & they’re all healthy fats that make skin & hair shine while promoting weight loss.

Ok, lemme break down the real deal facts on nuts:

+ Fiber: ya they ensure a healthy, normal poo cycle…gross? IDC- it’s the truth. Nuts also lower cholesterol & promote a healthy colon.

+ Vit E: nutsies improve skin, the immune system, & help repair DNA.

+ Antioxidants: they also happen to be one of the most powerful antioxidants. Ever. Plus they’re filling.

Umm…sold, love, die.

My favorites? Unsalted pistachios, almonds, & cashews.

Happy Friday! x. Lauryn

  1. I love NUTS! I always get questioned by people, like how many nuts is good to eat blah blah blah and it drives me NUTS-O! Nuts are great and because they contain fat makes them amazing! My favorite nut is Cashews! Lots of Love C

    1. I have a serious obsession with nuts and nut butters! I love to make my own nut butters! It’s SO easy and WAY cheaper than buying any of the stuff in the stores. Plus, you know exactly what goes into it! I just did a fitness competition, and I can honestly say that almond butter saved my life when I was feeling woozy backstage from water and carb depletion. Yum!!!

  2. I love nuts too! My faves are walnuts and pecans. I add them to everything: salads, smoothies, oatmeal, cereal, f desserts, fish, veggie dishes – such a great healthy source of fats and some protein, too.

  3. Mmm, I snack on almonds all the time. Plus I make almond butter and the occasional really special nut butter like pistachio macadamia. And almond meal… works really well in baking. Nuts rock!

  4. Nuts, and seeds too!! Soaked, sprouted and dehydrated with high mineral sea salt is my favorite 🙂 Almonds and pumpkin seeds YUM!
