Certain occasions call for sweet treats. This quick cookie recipe is not the healthiest, but these are way too Valentine’s Day appropriate not to share. I made these cookies for Michael today to celebrate the upcoming day of love. The Brach’s Conversation Hearts give the cookies a pop of color that provide playful sayings like “mad 4 u” or “got cha.” After Michael has a few and I steal one or two, I’ll sneak them out of the house to hand out at work. Sorry hunny!
* Makes about 16 to 24 cookies
1 container of pre-packaged sugar cookie dough
1 tube of frosting
Neon food coloring
Brach’s Conversation Hearts
1 heart cookie cutter
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough and use heart shaped cookie cutter to make hearts. Use a greased cookie sheet and place cookie dough cut outs on it. Place in oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven; let cool. Mix three separate bowls of frosting with different food coloring [ I picked blue, purple, & pink ]. When the cookies are cool paint them all with frosting and add Conversation Hearts. Happy Valentine’s Day!
So frigging cute! I would have to skip the food coloring though, afraid of sensitivities. Maybe could use some beet juice, much the taste might come with it…
Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope your’s will be full of love! X
Adorable! They are so colorful and festive 🙂 I gotta laugh anytime I see “e-mail me” on a conversation heart lol
