I Used My Baby’s Diaper Cream On a Pimple and It Worked

Diaper rash ointment for getting rid of pimples is all the rage.

Well maybe it’s not, but for me right now… it is!

Having a baby really makes you run around, man. Sometimes you gotta get creative. The other day I made a wild discovery that blew my mind.

Basically, it all started when I had a small rash around my nose. Who knows what it was from. I mean, we’re in quarantine right now, so it could be the dry air or not taking care of my skin as well as I normally would. But regardless, I had a little rash.

So there I was changing Zaza’s organic diaper ( love the Honest ones )—— like, the 182nd diaper to be exact. She’s the kind of baby who wants her diaper changed if there’s only one measly drop of pee in it.

Anyway, I picked up her diaper cream & started to slap it on. As I was putting this on her I thought, why couldn’t I use this on my face????? Like, why not????

So there I was, hair everywhere, in 6 day old sweats with breast milk pouring out my boobs, putting diaper cream on the rash around my nose.

A day later the rash had already gone down a crazy amount. I couldn’t believe how much redness it had taken away from the rash, so I started to think: what if I put diaper cream on a pimple?

We’ll get to the pimple part, but first, let’s talk about the actual diaper cream I used ( & love ).

This is just a cream that I really really like, there’s nothing more to it than that. I’m sure you could use any diaper cream, but I would use one as natural as possible. I mean, it’s going on your face.

The one I have is called Pinxav, pronounced ‘pink-salve.’ Their whole thing is to soothe & protect, which let me tell ya, it got the job done for my rash. The ingredients are all natural & I’m very much into it because it was founded in 1927.

They took out all the unnecessary, nasty-rat additives & used more zinc oxide than any other brand. Their goal was to prevent further irritation, & like I said, soothe. Which is exactly what we want when we have a rash or a pimple on our face.

The good thing about this is it’s super inexpensive. $8.99 to be exact. You could really use anything all natural here, so don’t feel like you have to get attached to any brand. But, you should know that the ingredients in this diaper cream are very much TSC-approved.

The Amaaazzzzing ( !!! ) Ingredients in Pinxav:

♡ Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus is used as an analgesic agent that helps to relieve pain. It is valued for its ability to reduce inflammation and promote healthy tissue and healing.

♡ Clove

Clove Oil assists in addressing fungal infections, wounds and cuts. It is an intense oil, most commonly used to relieve dental pain and infection. It is antiseptic, carminative, warming, and very aromatic.

♡ Peppermint

Peppermint (aka menthol) is a natural antiseptic as well as provides relief to itchy skin. Menthol can also be applied topically to help to relieve itching and inflammation due to contact dermatitis and hives.

♡ Wintergreen

Wintergreen stimulates blood circulation around the affected tissue and helps to kill bacteria on the skin. Wintergreen has also been know to treat and prevent acne.

♡ Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera treats skin conditions, such as psoriasis and acne, its calming effects to skin helps reduce itchiness and inflammation. It also has antibacterial and anti fungal properties that increase blood flow to wounds, and can stimulate fibroblasts, the skin cells responsible for wound healing.

♡ Vitamin E

Vitamin E oil benefits derive from two key features: it’s antioxidant properties, which fight inflammation and slowing the effects of free radicals, and its moisturizing properties.

When it comes to pimples I’m a huge fan of the clay that we’ve talked about before- Lerosett. It’s my number one go-to for pimples. If you don’t know about this, it’s literally magic. I’ve been using it FOREVER. The stuff works ASAP, immediately. I’ve never seen anything so magical.

Here’s the main secret though: the directions say to leave it on for ten minutes…I leave it on the zit overnight. So I sleep with the clay on the pimple. Works like a charm. Also big on a blackhead popper. So much better than popping anything with your dirty fingernails.

But, if you’re in a pinch, this diaper cream does work. I know this because I’ve tried it on 2 pimples. It’s super fun because it’s pink, truly coats the pimple ( I actually walked to Pilates with it on my face ), & I don’t mind how it smells.

Lerosett is the best thing, but this diaper cream is a close second. ( Check out this post for a ‘how-to’ using Lerosett, a blackhead popper, & tea tree oil as a pimple treatment ).

Hailey Baldwin-Bieber is also a big fan of using diaper cream on her face. After my research, I found that she uses it on her skin all the time. When asked about her go-to remedy for breakouts, she said, “I have found that diaper rash cream is a great thing for bringing down redness and healing. If you think about what it’s actually used for, which is red bumpy skin, it’s essentially the same thing. Diaper rash cream is great for under-eye bags, too.” ( via )

So, that’s my tip of the day. I think it really comes in handy if you’re a mom & in a pinch. Throw it on your red spot for 10 minutes or 1289364784. I left mine on for a long time, of course.

Next time you get a pimple or a rash in any area, remember diaper cream. Boy oh boy, does it work.

Hope you’re all staying safe.

Peace, love, & diaper cream.

x, lauryn.
