This week on THE SKINNY CONFIDENTIAL HIM & HER PODCAST...
( 2:25 ): We introduce this week’s very special guest, my dad, entrepreneur, businessman, branding expert, and restaurateur Brad Evarts. Brad is The Nanz’ son. Listen to her on TSC Him & Her Podcast episode 16.
( 4:20 ): My dad’s been dealing with Michael & I for a long time. It started when we were 12 and Brad caught us in the closet. You can hear our full relationship story in TSC Him & Her Podcast episode 36.
( 6:00 ): I’ve dated some not so great people but that’s for another podcast. My dad talks about how one of the smartest things I could ever do was date Michael.
( 9:05 ): We celebrated our first Thanksgiving as husband & wife. Brad brings a guest to Thanksgiving who turns out to be a little psycho.
( 14:50 ): We were having a great time & had to call the police!
( 18:15 ): My dad is not at all surprised that I ended up being an influencer. He talks about how I used to give seminars to kids in the garage when I was a child.
DISCUSSION TOPICS WITH BRAD:
( 20:55 ): Michael asks: “What specific parts about technology do you feel your generation can’t keep up with?”
( 23:25 ): Michael asks: “How is social media a tool for brick & mortar businesses?”
( 30:15 ): Lauryn asks: “How did you use branding to make each of your restaurants stand out?”
( 34:10 ): Michael asks: “What do you think are the major differences starting a restaurant now compared to 1987?”
( 34:15 ): Michael asks: “What advice would you give someone starting out in the restaurant business?”
( 37:20 ): Lauryn asks: “Why do you think people are over extravagant restaurants & how important is customer service?”
( 41:35 ): Lauryn asks: “You told me to remain child-like in relationships. Can you elaborate on that?”
LOVED having my dad on the podcast. Can’t wait to have him back to discuss how I was a horrible employee LOL.

Oh I can’t wait to listen to this! Total Daddy’s girl over here, so I love the relationship you have with your father (& the Nanz, of course <3 ), but also, as an ex-restaurant person, I'm so excited to listen to his experiences & especially excited for your question at 372: – as a somm on the younger side, I've def seen & worked this transition (& lotssssss of differing thoughts on it), needless to say, I can't wait to listen & hear his thoughts! x
Loved this episode! Its apparent that you and Michael have a great relationship with your dad and its great to hear how you have been just as much as an influence in his business, has he has been for you. You guys touched on some great points in this episode and I thought everything was spot on. Especially the part about letting your customers do the marketing and social media for you. Setting the scene to draw people in, then keep them coming back with great food and great service. Really great tips!
