BOOKS FOR CREATIVITY
OMG. I had to listen to this podcast twice it was so good! I literally stopped in my tracks and rewound the part about how she said she works in her sleep. And how she writes down her thoughts in her phone when she’s in bed trying to sleep and I have this issue all the time when I try to go to sleep and my brain WILL NOT shut off so I have to write it all down in my phone. One night I was overnight at my boyfriend’s house and I felt bad because he was trying to sleep and I had my Evernote app open on my phone writing out all my thoughts as they came to me and I showed him the next morning and you had to scroll and scroll that’s how much I had written down.
Now, when I’m at home, I sleep with my Apple watch on because it tracks my sleep patterns and heart rate throughout the day and night and I use my Day One journaling app on my watch to capture my thoughts as they come to me. So all I’m doing is talking my thoughts into my watch instead of having a lit up phone screen in my face. I have to do this every night so I can sleep. Plus my best thoughts and ideas come to me in the shower, in bed, and when im driving. So I use that in bed, I use waterproof notepads in the shower and I use Siri to add notes to my phone while I’m driving or use my Day One journaling app on my watch as well.
Lately, I’ve been using MindNode for mind mapping and I LOVE it. And when I’m working, I use the Remarkable tablet to jot down interrupting thoughts and ideas and also use it for my morning pages and brain dumping throughout the day and this saves me SO much paper you have no idea.
And the part where she talked about her anxiety resonated so much so I went to her YT and watched her video about the topic. I’ve always struggled with anxiety on a regular basis but I’ve never really had an attack until the other night at my boyfriend’s house so now I’m feeling I really should talk to my doctor about getting on anxiety medicine.
Anyway, sorry for rambling that’s just how my brain works.
Thank you so much for putting out this episode and for interviewing amazing women like Lauren. I’m a little more obsessed with her after this interview. I followed her before the episode but now I’m binging on her content.
