[ Blueberries have fiber, Vitamin C & E ]
I wore my Halloween costume [ which was belly-bearing- I was an Indian chief ] out Friday night to attend a concert. I knew I would be drinking & wanted to reduce the chances of bloat. This smoothie was created primarily for that reason. Spinach aids in reducing puffiness, orange juice has potassium which flushes out the system & blueberries are full of antioxidants. The flat belly smoothie hardly took any time at all & luckily the blueberries & Greek 0% yogurt camouflage the spinach taste [ I promise! ].
[ Chino’s Farms spinach leaves ]
[ Simply Orange juice with calcium & vitamin D ]
[ Fresh ingredients in the blender ]
[ A fabulous pre-cocktail snack ]
** Serves two ladies
1 handful of blueberries
2 handfuls of spinach leaves
2 scoops of Greek 0% yogurt
2 splashes of orange juice [ make sure it’s pure OJ ]
1/2 cup of ice
Blend all ingredients together.
Great recipe to have, thanks! And great blog!

Hi,
great blog. i just have a question. how many times a day are you supposed to drink the flat belly smoothie??
Hi Lauryn,
Thanks for sharing, sounds delicious!
I’m just wondering about the whole antioxidants thing. Although obviously blueberries are quite healthy, I’m reading a lot (for example check Wikipedia) that suggest that there’s nothing special about antioxidants, and they might even be damaging when take at too high dosage!
Cheers from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Hi Lauryn,
Just found your blog. It’s great!
Must try this smoothie in the morning. Never made one combining spinach and blueberries before but it sounds very interesting! I think I’ve got just enough frozen blueberries and just enough fresh spinach. Right out of yoghurt though, but can’t wait to see what it tastes like so I’m going to try using soy milk. Fingers crossed.

Hi, it’s enough to drive you batty isn’t it? One year studies show that ‘something’ is good for you, the next year it’s not. I keep up to date with all the latest nutrition research too, but in the end, just like you, I know that blueberries and other antioxidant rich foods are healthy for us. Its said so often, but I’ll say it again, everything in moderation…. 🙂
I mixed this cocktail up today and loved it!!! It’s definately worth a try and I will be making it again tomorrow.
Do u have to add the spinach in this drink because I cannot have it .
You can use any green babe! X
I don’t have blueberries can I just use any fruit or can I just do it without?
Yes! You can use any berry!! xx.
