So anxious to share the following news with you all:
1.) It’s official: my online store has launched! It’s full of whimsical knickknacks to enhance your skinny dishes, cocktails, & treats. Over the years I seemed to have accumulated quite the collection of little delights that brighten up any recipe. I figured you all would appreciate the colorful, tiny enhancements too! 2.) After speculation, it turns out that Starbucks is indeed adding beer & wine to their menu selections. Coffee and wine? Heaven. I’ll never leave.
Between the store & Starbuck’s vino/beer announcement, I’m giddy with excitement!

This drink is ideal when I am out in a club and have limited options. Bartending at Delicias, I tend to hear a lot of women request a “vodka soda” or “vodka, soda with a splash of cran.” Personally, I do not like soda because its bloating- I prefer this: a shaken Chopin [ it’s made from potatoes & gluten-free ] with water, and then a splash of grapefruit juice over ice. It is amazing how the grapefruit counteracts the vodka and takes the bite out of the alcohol. Add a lemon twist & it’s the perfect club cocktail [ P.S. check out Crush Jewelry Design that I am wearing below- so fun ]!

People don’t realize how much sugar [ which ultimately, turns in to fat ] alcohol has. After a few drinks, I can definitely see them, hanging out, in my mid-section. And let’s face it, no one wants a fupa. In studying the effects of alcohol and weight gain, I read an interesting article [ found here ]. A regular margarita at any given restaurant has between 500 and 800 calories. Now for the gross sugar facts…Let’s put it this way: a margie is equal to a king size candy bar. Point being: watch your liquid calories!!
Working as a bartender at Delicias for the past three years has allowed me to experiment with different options using my own personal favorite, Don Julio Tequila. Try this summer drink [ or 2 or 3 ( : ] for a 100 calorie, low, low sugar option. Cheers!
