Hiiiiii. Back to the grind! Boo. Hoo.

Ok. So. I’ve received a lot e-mails from peeps who are on the fence about participating in the ‘A New Year, A New You Juice Cleanse Challenge.’

The answer is you should x a mill.

Save the excuses. Blah, blah, blabbity, blah. Just. do. it.

+ Reasons why you should absolutely, positively, without a doubt, detox the shit outta your bod:

1.} Discipline: cleansing is such a fantastic way to practice discipline. When you commit to something, stick with it.

2.} 24/7 Support: Annie, Samantha, Weslie, & I will be with you every step of the way.

3.} Energy: I’m bouncing off the wall like a Ping Pong ball during the cleanse. Trust me. Try it.

4.} Breaking bad habits: detoxing helps break sugar addictions & nasty, sickie habits that are about as appealing as a line at the DMV.

5.} Start 2013 with an fn’ing bang: banging body, banging New Year, banging life.

6.} Weight loss: this cleanse really helps to shed that post-winter coat ; ).

7.} Stop being a pussy: honestly. I mean, it’s three days out of your life to better yourself. Chop, chop.

8.} Challenge yourself: you have all the tools. What’s stopping you from challenging your mind & body? Whatever it is- get over it.

9.} Stop with the”tomorrow” BS: instead of making excuses, check yourself before you wreck yourself. Take action now; not tomorow, not next week, not next Monday. NOW.

10.} A lifestyle change: instead of sitting around thinkin’/hopin’/prayin’ about what you wish you had, make that shit happen.

Done.&.Done.

P.S. hope you enjoy the peak inside my Christmas day ; )!

My Workout Group Does the 3-Day Juice Cleanse

June 20, 2012

[ Tea choice for Day 1: a Starbucks iced green tea, with light water + 2 splashes of passion, no sweetener ]

My workout group & a bunch of my girlfriends started the three day juice cleanse today. Here are the pros + the cons for day one of the cleanse:

++ Pros:

+ I already feel less bloated, my skin is shining, & I have loads of energy.

+ Each time I do the cleanse, it gets so much easier [ this is probably my 5th or 6th time doing the it within the last two years ].

+ Going through the process with friends is the best; it keeps me [ & them ] accountable.

+ Day 1 tastes great!

++ Cons:

+ I have to keep reminding myself to drink tons of water.

+ Since I’m always on the go, it makes it difficult to haul the gallon of juice around.

+ Working out is a bit harder than usual [ because you’re cutting carbs ].

+ It gets kind of old having to drink the same thing for eight hours straight.

{ Note: This cleanse isn’t for everyone: if you have any medical conditions before, during, or after the cleanse please consult a doctor immediately }.

These are pictures of Elena, Bekah, & I with our results from the Juice Cleanse Challenge. I would love to see your post-cleanse pictures too; e-mail me  [ Lauryn@TheSkinnyConfidential.com ] or post them on the fan page! I’ve read through all your experiences, some of which include: you feel less bloated, your food cravings have decreased, your stomach feels like it shrunk, Day three juice tasted too veggie, & some of you stopped at Day 2 [ for all different reasons ].

Again, this cleanse is a small part of a bigger picture. Staying fit is dedication. Hopefully the cleanse kickstarts a healthier lifestyle filled with smarter food choices, extra water, & a little more discipline. Congrats to all of you who completed the challenge!

Congratulations to All that Completed the Juice Cleanse Challenge!!!

April 21, 2012

LAURYN

Lauryn Evarts, fitness blogger and health blogger from Southern California with weight loss tips.

Congratulations fellow cleansers! How’s everyone feeling?

I woke up today with not one craving and typically breakfast is the first thing I do. This morning I was not hungry at all [ !!! ]. I ate a banana & OJ mixed with a bunch of sparking water. Later I had a green drink [ recipe found here ]. Each time I complete this cleanse, it becomes easier- this time was a breeze compared to my first time [ which was a struggle ].

Dying to know: if you participated in the challenge, what was your rose & what was your thorn? Tell, tell. My rose: the increase in energy levels. My thorn: the “day three juice” tasted too veggie, making it way too difficult to consume 64 ounces.

If you just completed the cleanse, this is what I would recommend for the next week:

+ Tons of water and green tea.

+ Light coffee/alcohol.

+ Practice portion control! You just spent three days detoxing; your appetite will not be as big as it normally is. Use miso soup sized bowls. Kickstart healthy habits.

+ Go low on carbs. If you’re eating carbs think: quinoa, whole grains, Oasis 8 toast with soy nut butter, or black beans.

+ Examples of post-detox bites: fruits, veggies, hummus with rice chips, almond butter on celery, quinoa, lentils, arugula salads with beets, broccoli, lemon juice, olive oil & a sprinkle of cheese, light string cheese sticks, scrambled eggs, nuts, dark chocolate chips for dessert, and/or veggies covered in fresh tomato sauce.

+ Have a small amount of veggie juice late afternoon- because why not?

+ Don’t binge. Enjoy the light weight feeling!

I’m currently blogging in the clouds…we’re off to Cabo for a few days for a much needed vacation [ hence the picture ]. Hope your weekend is stress-free & relaxing!

P.S. A results post will be up tomorrow- super excited to share the results of the juice cleanse! xo,
