Man oh man. Is it hard to make healthy choices at airports, or what?! Geezzzzz. For anyone out there that travels for a job, I would love to hear how you eat healthy! It.is.very.difficult. We were obviously at the airport. A lot. Eating healthy before take off, is definitely one of those things that takes a bit of creatively. But…it’s possible [ << no excuses, remember? ].

+ How to Eat Healthy While You’re Traveling:

+ Buffets: if you’re eating at an airport lounge or a buffet, don’t go crazzzzzy. Make your version of pasta salad. Add a handful of veggies to the plate with some noodles & tomato sauce to keep yourself satisfied. Always go for something called muesli [ they normally always have it when traveling internationally ]. It contains tons of fiber; it’s uncooked rolled oats with nuts & fruit. Also incredibly delicious with a few drops of honey & skim milk.

+ Chips: sometimes when you’re famished & exhausted from traveling, chips are a convenient option. Ok, ok, so grab the Pop Chips or wait for it…FRITOS. Fritos are amazing because you can actually pronounce all of its ingredients [ whole corn, corn oil, & salt ]! Only eat packaged food that has ingredients you are familiar with because no one likes gross chemicals.

+ Soda: eww. Just drink water. Since flying causes bloat, try to flush your system out with tons of aqua. Maybe a Corona Light too ; ).

+ Nuts: per usual, I am always late. So when my plane is about to leave me on the runway, nuts are ideal because they’re convenient. Usually those airport magazine stores carry them.

+ Starbucks: can I just say Starbucks is amazing? Their reduced egg white turkey bacon sandwich is a perfect example. Modification: take one side of bread off & throw it away. Open-faced sandwiches are fab. Grab a green tea w/ no sweetener & you’re set.

Note to all airlines: please provide better options :/ !!

  1. This came absolutely convenient since i’m flying to Greece with my girlies this sunday and hate it when I can’t choose a healthy meal or snack! Thanks doll! 😀

  2. I bring my refillable water bottle. Leave it empty through security and then fill it up once inside. I have filled it at the soda fountains and even Starbucks filled it up for me after I grabbed a coffee. It’s saves on cash, helps with the bloat of traveling and better for the environment.
