Shoes Off Bitches!

In light of everything going on in the world right now, this post is super relevant. It’s so important to stay away from germs, especially right now, that shoe covers should be mandatory. Can it be a law?

Anyway, If you watch my Instagram Stories, you know I’m a huge, & I mean HUGE, fan of pink shoe covers. There’s nothing more satisfying than knowing that people’s shoes are covered when they enter my house.

To be real with you, the reason this became a thing is because of my friend Khalil. He came on The Skinny Confidential HIM & HER podcast & talked about his struggle with addiction & drugs.

He spoke about things that go on in the streets of Los Angeles. It’s crazy. Everything from semen to heroin needles, to projectile vomit, to fecal matter, to piss. So like… no sorry, I don’t want your Converse sneakers in my house after they walk all over that. Does anyone?

Then, I got sucked into talking to so many people about this, that I started being served advertisements of what is on shoes. If you haven’t seen it, it’s like a petri dish with the breakdown of all the nasty-rat shit that is on the bottom of all of our shoes.

This is not something that I’ve always been weird about, but I got pregnant. & really sober ( lol no champagne for a few weeks will do that to you ). & especially since we moved to a city like LA, I just didn’t want any germs in my house.

It’s also worth a mention that normally, I have a lot of people coming in & out of my house throughout the day. That’s not the case right now, obviously.

Mimi said that in Korea EVERYONE removes their shoes before entering someone’s home. It’s a sign of respect. Can we have this vibe all over the world please?

So why do you need to fuck with a pink shoe cover?

♡ They’re reusable. If someone frequents your house, you could keep their shoe covers in a bag at the door.

♡ You won’t bring gross germs in your home.

♡ They’ll keep your floor clean & sterile.

♡ They’ll keep your carpet plush & bright.

♡ It reduces the spread of contamination. Kylie Jenner actually has a shoe cover machine. ( Feel like this is the next step for me. )

♡ They’re fast & efficient for someone who doesn’t want to take their shoes off.

There’s nothing worse than wearing a tie-up shoe or boot to someone’s house, then having to sit on the floor to untie them at the entranceway.

& if someone is going to the hospital then wants to wear shoes in your home, you can stop them at the door with these shoe covers. This was an ACTUAL problem. Michael insisted on wearing his shoes in the house after I gave birth. FUCK NO.

Love the pink ( of course ), but you can also get them in white, blue or whatever color you want. Match your aesthetic! Not a huge fan of the white because they just turn black, so I’ll be sticking with the pink.

There’s nothing more satisfying than making all my guy friends wear a pink shoe cover. My friend Westin in pink booties? Hilarious.

Don’t forget these if you’re moving too! They’re so great to give to all the movers.

Anyway, keep that semen, pee & vomit out of your house & invest in some shoe covers. You can’t go wrong with the 100 pack on Amazon– they’ll fit over anyone’s shoes.

This is just a really good option to have on hand if it’s too annoying for people to take their shoes off in your house.

I’ll be taking mine off at your house or whipping out my chic, pink shoe covers.

Hope you loved this hot tip & be sure to follow my new Instagram account @and.the.skinny.was.like for more little tips like this. Nothing is sponsored it’s just tons of amazing Amazon finds that I use on the reg. Also, stalk my Amazon shop for all the latest & greatest.

Stay safe you guys. Hope everyone & their family is in good health.

STEP UP YOUR SHOE GAME

  1. Love this article. The cable guy came in a and tracked MUD all over my light beige NEW carpet. I’m pissed as hell!
    What an idiot!

  2. OMG I love this idea. I usually feel so AWK asking people to take off their shoes but I think I need to just get over it and make them put the covers on.

    1. Yes! Growing up in Canada I always thought it was so weird watching characters on shows in the states walking around their house in shoes (heels? I’m the kitchen? Get a pair of slippers!!!) I have a pair of inside only flip-flops and slippers, all outdoor shoes stay in the front hall closet. I never wear my shoes in someone’s house unless they tell me I can…

    2. yes totally! half the year it’s snowy, muddy, slushy and gross. you can’t walk in with boots. your place would be literally wet and disgusting.

  3. I always get people to take their shoes off. It’s easy because a) I’m Indian so I definitely play the “I’m Asian so you can’t have shoes in my house” and also b) I live in downtown LA, where the streets are heinous. Ordering the shoe covers right now!

  4. In Europe it is not ok to walk inside someones home with shoes on 😀 for sure you take them off and leave them near the front door hallway!! Cant even imagine how dirty the rooms would get if you dont take them off!!

    1. SO funny how there are little nuances that are so dif! thank u for reading 🙂

  5. In Canada it is very very rare that people wear their shoes inside their home. I have always taken my shoes off when entering someone’s house. I remember doing it when I visited a friend in NYC and wow the look he gave me HAHAHAH!
