Reese Witherspoon’s Famous Glowing Green Smoothie
The other night I was casually perusing TikTok ( huge fan by the way, you should for sure get on and follow me @laurynbosstick for fun tips & tricks ), and I came across Reese Witherspoon and fell in love with the way she made her smoothie.
I’m telling you, this smoothie looked like it was filled with all the delicious nutrients. Come to find out, it was actually a recipe adapted from Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie and also the star Kerry Washington and her Green Smoothie Recipe.
It was full of things like apple, lemon, and tons of greens to make your skin glow from the inside out. It also has positive effects on your hair and nails. If you have brittle nails, those greens can make nails really strong! If you’re unfamiliar with @_kimberlysnyder, she is a famous wellness goddess in LA who all the celebs look to for tips, tricks & diet modifications to tighten things up. Not only does she help tighten things up, but she helps you glow. She includes healthy fats & other things that make your skin glowy, plump, delicious, skin is so beautiful. She’s known for it- she’s magic.
Anyway, Reese is a huge fan of hers and made her glowing green smoothie, so I wanted to share it with you today. Recently I actually bought a Vitamix ( this is the one I bought ) to make this smoothie. Every morning I will be making this smoothie, AND I got the OK from Zaza’s doctor that she can start having puréed foods, so this is the perfect way to introduce her to fruits and vegetables ( no strawberries or honey though because they’re known allergens ) in a fun ‘mommy-daughter’ way. Hopefully daddy can get on board with the ‘mommy-daughter’ smoothie thing too, because daddy is looking a little nutrient deficient lately. LOL. Quarantine will do that to you.
So let’s get into the smoothie. Ready? Let’s do this.
Reese Witherspoon’s Glowing Green Smoothie:
♡ 2 heads of romaine
♡ 1 pear
♡ 1 apple
♡ 1entire lemon ( the whole lemon )
♡ coconut water
♡ Add anything else you want.
+ throw everything in the blender & enjoy.
Like I said, my secret ingredient, is the Vitamix I got. It really blends things up, helps you digest everything and gives you the optimal amount of absorption. Not a big fan of protein powder almond butter right now, so it’s nice to throw in some hemp seeds to give a little bit of healthy fat and a protein boost. Big fan of throwing in some Gangster Chic inulin too.
This is the drink that I drink – it doesn’t taste gross but it tastes so good!!! You can take the smoothie every morning!
It’s important to note that your smoothie NEEDS Softy Straws. Just trust me. They’re the best silicone straws- good for the planet, come in cute light pink, & your smoothie residue won’t get stuck in them. Check out this post for more.
More fun toppings for your smoothies are bee pollen ( a supermodel’s best kept secret ), unsweetened coconut flakes, cacao nibs and goji berries. They add a little antioxidant touch & make your smoothie look cute. Sidenote: If you haven’t read about goji berries and why I’m obsessed lately, check it out here.
Since we’re on the subject of Reese Witherspoon, I have to say her awards show Little Fires Everywhere with co star Kerry Washington is so good and relevant right now. I highly recommend it. It’s one of the first shows that I’ve binge watched without Michael. It kinda has a girly feel, but I think he’s watching out of his peripherals when we’re in bed. I heard the book is good too. Has anyone read it?
What’s funny is as I drink my Glowing Green Smoothie, I’m also reading a book on Reese’s recommendation ( you have to follow @reesesbookclub ) called Untamed by Glennon Doyle. I started with Love Warrior, and now I’m on Untamed. They both get Reese’s stamp of approval.
Not only can Reese be a hot bitch who makes out with Buffy The Vampire Slayer in Cruel Intentions, she can make a mean green smoothie, act in an amazing show & recommend one of the best books I’ve ever read.
PS. Do we need Reese on the podcast? I think that’s a yes.
