Q & A Sesh: Part II

Lauryn Evarts, fitness blogger, health blogger, and diet blogger talks skinny tips and tricks for weight loss.{ Red lipstick found here }

Thanks to your recommendations I found some healthy options in Vegas : ).

Hippity hip hooray.

Ok so, it’s Q & A day again! I’m answering more questions from this post:

1.} Kat asked:

Have you ever done a water fast? If so would you recommend it?

No and no! A water fast has no nutrients or electrolytes. Read more here. Personally, I think I would faint x 10 if I did a water fast.

I would recommend a juice cleanse ( info found here). Also, Suja Juice does an amazing 3-day cleanse that is seriously life-changing. Good luck babe!

2.} Chelsea asked:

Do you wear extensions? If so, what kind??

I don’t wear extensions but I’m for it! I think if you buy the right ones ( I like these clip in ones )- they’re great. Weslie ( TSConf’s beauty expert ) uses clip in extensions & loves them!

As far as the more permanent ones: I’m not the biggest fan because I feel like they make your real hair fall out. Plus no guy wants to run his fingers through a glue-y hair extension.

But. Do what works for you! If you look good, you feel good. More hair info will be found in the book.

3.} Hannah asked:

Love your blog; the pictures, insights, tips, and the voice that you have created!
I just moved back to San Diego, where are some great spots to grab a drink? Or places that I must go to?!

Thank you, Hannah! I am going to do a guide to San Diego post : ).

In the meantime, I recommend Craft & Commerce for a craft cocktail, Fashion Valley Mall for shopping, The Little Italy Farmer’s Market for organic foods, & FIT Athletic Club for a gnarly workout.

4.} Kathy asked:

Love your blog! Here we go with the questions: do you color your hair? How often? What’s your favorite: food? Exercise? Way to relax? Vacation spot?

+ First question:

I do color my hair. I normally get a few highlights with toner. I probably get my hair colored every six to seven weeks.

Keep in mind: it’s tough to find an amazing hair colorist. My hair babe makes sure I use great product & doesn’t add too much color. Also, the longer you wait between treatments, the better.

Less is more! I used to over bleach my hair circa 2001 & it looked like dog shit. Now I like a more natural, hippie look.

A post on hair can be found here & here.

Also, all my hair tips/tricks/secrets will be found in my book.

+ Second question:

Food: avocado ( love this recipe ) or LEMON. LEMON EVERYTHING! I’m a lemon monster.

Exercise: traditional Pilates.

Way to relax: a book, red wine, Pixy, candles, & my fluffy bed.

Vacation spot: Cabo. Hands down. Also, Venice, Italy was pretty spectacular.

5.} Melissa asked:

Could you share your experience with fillers (if you have used them). How long the results last, how much product used, and how often? Your lips are so perfect! Thank you so much!

Nothing’s perfect ( besides Pixy )! I don’t have lip fillers & I’ve never filled my lips. I don’t know much about how long lip fillers last ( or the best brand to use ). As far as plastic surgery ( or filler ) goes I’m a big believer in do what well works for you. If you’ve done the research on the procedure & want to do it- do it.

Other people’s opinion of you is none of YOUR business. So. Who cares what anyone says?

My overall view on plastic surgery: to each its own. Do what works for YOU.

Have an amazing hump day!

{ Another Q & A post can be 123, 4, & 5 }

  1. I agree with the ways to relax! Wine, candles, and fluffy beds! Also, looking forward to reading your book!

    Stay lovely,

    Mel from Silk And Chai

  2. I love your blog! And that you’re doing this whole Q and A thing… it’s awesome 🙂

I wanted to know what your thoughts are on negative calories foods (Fruits and veggies)? Do you believe this, or do you think it’s a myth?

    1. Hi Melissa,

I’ve used fillers on my lips and absolutely love it. I only used half a syringe so it wasn’t over kill but the result was perfect. A bit fuller and I felt like it made my entire face look better. They told me it would last about 6 months before you would have to redo them, but I would say closer to 4 or 5 months.
