My Updated Skincare Routine

A couple weeks ago when I was away in Lake Como, I shared my updated skincare routine and you are all wanting a blog post about it. So here we are. My routine does change a lot. For this post, I was traveling, and I’m constantly trying new things for you. But this is the latest.

Here it, laid out nice and easy for you. As always.

 + Dry Brush

Before I get into the shower, I dry brush. I’ve been doing this since 2014 and it’s so invigorating and the best way to exfoliate your skin. It gets rid of dead skin cells and just feels super energizing.

+ Red Light

Dr. Dennis Gross has the most amazing red light masks. I have the one for face, neck and décolletage and lips. The lip one is like instant filler. It plumps and makes them so smooth. Sometimes I do the red light masks while I’m meditating with my legs up the wall. It’s a nice way to chill, but get some preventative skincare in too.

+ Hydrate & Sculpt

As soon as I get out of the shower, I’ll use a moisturizer or Agent Nateur’s Holi Body Serum. It has super clean ingredients, won’t give you that oily feeling and is so perfect to use with Le Spoon. (I also love the body oil from Pellequr.) Also love Ice Queen Facial Oil for this. Then I take the body sculptor, start at my feet and do quick short strokes all the way up my legs, down my torso, then up my arms, chest and neck. Since I’ve been doing this my cellulite has almost disappeared and I feel so chiseled. It’s so good post-workout too if you have sore muscles. Each side is meant for a different part of the body, with a woman’s body in mind.

Now, let’s get to the face.

+ Cleanse.

On a clean face, I use Agent Nateur cleansing face oil with a little face scrubber (I recommend using whatever side is most gentle.) This makes my skin feel bright and tight. HOT TIP: I always wash my face with cold water. One of my favorite cleansers is Elemis cleansing balm. It melts off your makeup and smells like you’re at a spa. You take a dime-sized amount, rub it all over your face (do a little manual facial massage while you’re at it), then take a wet baby washcloth and remove the balm. You’ll be amazed what comes off your face. Then, cleanse as you usually would.

+ ALWAYS pat your skin dry.

Try not to rub. Just a gentle pat with a clean towel, or my favorite, baby washcloths. Don’t use the same towel that your husband used on his balls, ok?

Recently I’ve starting using Barefaced toning pads in the morning. These really tighten my skin and exfoliate. I use them about 3 times a week and it gets in deep. Helen and Naomie recommended these to me and I truly think they’re so fabulous. (Use code SKINNY for 15% off your first purchase.)

The Skinny Confidential ice roller is the holy grail for me. It’s a must in my routine. My preference is to do it before I apply skincare but you can use it whenever you want.

What Does Ice Do To Your Face?

+ Next I apply Skinceuticals CE Ferulic.

Again, pat this on. Think of Shmee from Peter Pan when he pats Captain Hook’s face after he shaves him. Really take it down your neck and to your chest, too. Also, I rub any extra skincare on the back of my hands. Why not, right?

+ Next, I lock everything in with Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 gel. Full of vitamins and nutrients, my skin eats it up.

+ Hyperpigmentation is an issue for me, so Skinceuticals Discolouration Defence works like a charm.

Another Vitamin C option I love is Dr. Dennis Gross C cream.

+ Skinceuticals Phyto A+ Brightening Treatment is next and it feels so good.

It’s lightweight but so hydrating. Very good for sensitive skin and I try to just gently pat it in and use my ring finger around my eyes (it forces you to do it gently). It’s oil free and doesn’t cause milia. This will create such a good canvas for your makeup.

+ Agent Nateur Ageless face serum is magic.

I need to order more, that’s how much I love it. This is filled with vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients that make your skin feel so soft and healthy. Highly recommend. It reduces appearance of redness, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots and scarring.

Face Massager

+ Of course the Pink Balls face massager feels so good, but it also helps lock everything in. I like to use it after the serum.

+ Epicuren Colostrum cream on the face seals in all the goodness. Yes you read that right. More here on colostrum moisturizer and you just have to listen to Dr. Sarah Rahal on The Him & Her Show talk about colostrum as a supplement. Your mind will be blown.

Lips and Brows

+ Dr. Dennis Gross plumping lip treatment is the best one I’ve found. It actually works and is super hydrating, plus it enhances your natural lip color.

+ Lastly, a castor oil on my brows really helps polish off the look. Always brush up. And if you’re into a bold brow REFY gel is for you. Trust me.

+ Finally, always remember to apply your favorite SPF. The Skinny Confidential NEW Caffeinated SPF ticks all the boxes. I’ve been wearing it every single day for months and my god it was worth the wait.

Benefits of TSC Caffeinated Sunscreen

It really is the creme de la creme of sunscreens and it took us years to get it that way for you. Apply it after your skincare, BEFORE your makeup. But the glowy tint is so good you might not even want to cover it up.

Et voilá. There you have it. Oh yes, I’ve also been using Vegamour Pro serum with this scalp massager on my hair and loving it so far. Have you added anything new to your routine this summer? Is your skincare different when you travel? Let me know below.

  1. One of the best things to do for your skin (and every other part of your body!) is cut out alcohol! Worst possible thing for aging.

  2. Curious, do you use hydroquinone pads or cream ever? Would love to know if you think it’s effective.

  3. I bought everything shortly after you posted this and now that’s it’s been a few months I wanted to say THANK YOU!! My skin looks and feels amazing. Dark spots are fading, skin tone is evening out, looking fresh and dewy. So grateful you shared these products! And my “mom brain” is thankful you shared the order to use the products. I read all the instructions on the bottles and for whatever reason my brain just could not. Thank you thank you thank you!

  4. Love Agent Nateur, all Jena’s products are so thoughtful. From the intoxicating rich scents to the clean ingredients, her oils are where it’s at! Such a natural fit to see you using her products! If you haven’t tried her Aime deodorant it is a must. The orange blossom scent is so fresh & clean.
