Is it just me or can Thanksgiving be kind of stressful?
I’m being honest here so bear with me.
Sometimes it feels like each year there’s more added pressures, an extra house to stop, more food to cook, etc. Does this happen when you get older or is this just total norm for 2014? Thoughts?
Don’t get me wrong, I loveeeee Thanksgiving but man, oh, man…we went to two houses, I baked three pumpkin rolls/pie ( < recipe coming soon )/Brussels sprouts, I had to get fully ready ( like hair/makeup/the works ), & we brought both of the dogs around…while MOVING.
So ya, I’d say it was kind of stressful.

Our Thanksgiving was beautiful BUT next year I kind of want to sit on my couch & watch the parade, makeup free in my flannel pajamas, ya know?
Anyway moving update: we are moved in but we don’t have a lot of furniture— Michael sold a lot of his bachelor pad-ish furniture & I didn’t have enough furniture to furnish our new place so now we’re looking around for some statement/classic pieces. Do you guys have any secret furniture spots?? At this rate, I can’t wait to share our place when it’s done with you guys in like six million years!! HA!
Hope you all had a fun Thanksgiving…stay tuned for my skinny pie recipe.

The cinnamon apple cranberry sauce looks super tasty. Anything with cinnamon is a winner in my book. :] // ▲ itsCarmen.com ▲

Thanks lady!
Why shop when you can have something custom made??
Jennifer Farmer’s furniture is amazing.

You too Jen!
Lauryn, definitely browse some of the estate sales in your area. So much amazing artwork, furniture, and tables can be found at them. Its much less stressful then continuous trips to expensive furniture places and you never know what you’ll find!! 🙂
Amazing setup!

So…not super classy but walmart.com has some brands that I am pretty sure NEVER appear in the store such as Safavieh (sp?). Think the prices are a little friendlier too. Gotta heart the Mart 🙂
I’m with you! And not to mention always being “on” around the holidays when you’re with new people. I do love a good holiday party, but also need my downtime. And moving is already stressful, good luck doing that during this time of year. I’m going to be moving after January and I’m already worried about it. Have a great day and hang in there! 🙂
Happy (late) Thanksgiving to you. I love the super cute forks and that cranberry dip looks super legit.
Thanks!

I think added stress definitely comes into play when you’re moving! Hopefully next year you’ll be able to relax more. On another note – can’t wait for your skinny pumpkin pie recipe!! XO, D

Omgsh…I am Obsessed with that BPA-free organic canned pumpkin!!! Just discovered it last year @ Earthfare and I can’t stop cooking and baking all things pumpkin now! My kitty and puppy know the can and they go crazy every time I pull one out of the pantry, too 🙂
That cinnamon apple cranberry sauce looks delicious! I love your new cutlery! So adorable!
bah totally agree with you on the thanksgiving stress! I can’t imagine battling moving PLUS the holidays… gah!
Oh yes that’s ok if it’s after thanksgiving… I still would like it for winter and there’s always next year too 😉 thank you so much!!
Congrats on the move! It’s so stressful! But now you get to live with your man! Enjoy the “transition”!

I agree that it can be kind of crazy. WE hosted for my family and my fiance’s family for the first time ever and after it was all over I felt like I need a vacation from thanksgiving. Don’t get me wrong, it was a blast!!! but Just busy busy.

Welcome to L.A.! (At least part time!) One of my favorite furniture places here is HD Buttercup. They have unique pieces that stand out. Hope you love it here!
Looks like a gorgeous spread! I agree, though, Thanksgiving in sweats and no-makeup may be there very best kind! xxoo
