Hi, hello, a lot going on.
Firstly, I haven’t talked to you guys one-on-one for a while?
Lots of updates here: my sister, Faye, had a beautiful ( gorgeous, stunning, so in love ) baby named Daxton. Dax is so cute, I really can’t deal ( remember her baby shower? Check it out here for a refresher ).
I am not the best with babies BUT Dax is really changing my tune ; ).
We rushed up to Orange County after a crazy day to welcome Daxton into the world. My sister was fearless & immediately a complete natural at being a mom. Very proud of her & SO thrilled to be an aunt. I feel like he needs a white tux immediately for our wedding. Actively looking.
Any tips for my sister? Please share – moms ( or aunts! ). You guys always have awesome recommendations.

On an opposite note, we went to Vegas last weekend.
Complete 180 but fun & a refreshing change of pace.
Michael & I hopped on an hour Vegas flight to Caesar’s Palace to celebrate their 50 year anniversary. We stayed in a chic yellow & black decorated room overlooking the Strip & enjoyed Mr. Chow & Nobu ( highly recommend their passion fruit sake & thinly sliced tuna ). When we arrived at Caesar’s, we met up with my best friend, Steve, who joined us for some spicy chicken at Mr. Chow.
Vegas is always fun.
You kind of can’t go wrong?
Anyway, we enjoyed all the Caesar’s amenities while we indulged in a couple of skinny margaritas…no gambling, but Michael DID pick out his wedding tux. That took about 71716118999 hours.

IN OTHER NEWS! A lot has been going on but I haven’t had a chance to sit down & really, REALLY write. So give me a minute because I have lots to share. Before an in-depth blog post, I have to REALLY think about what I’m writing…before I actually write it. You know, wrap my head around the topic. So lots more will be coming soon!
OK, what’s going on with you? Any news? Anything fun? How was Labor Day?
I have been watching Narcos all weekend AND I CANNOT STOP. It’s so good guys, I refuse to stop watching it. Better than anything. HELP ME, it’s addictive.
On that note, going to enjoy some peppermint tea & watermelon jerky. Hope you all entered the giveaway, it’s a good one!

Hope you are doing all right, and I know (& I’m sure many others) know the feeling. Sometimes, just sitting down and writing is so necessary (& strangely therapeutic)… and if you need some help, a glass or two before writing can always help do the trick. Tip for your sister: Babywear! Its the best thing for babies and it makes life so much easier (especially if they are fussy or you are out to eat)! Solly wrap is my personal fav and she’s a SD local so that’s a major plus too!
My boyfriend will NOT SHUT UP about Narcos!!! I was skeptical at first but now that I see it’s a show you watch (the fact that you liked House of Cards shows that you have good TV taste) I will now consider. 😉

We had our first baby in June. Some advice from one newbie to another: don’t listen to too much advice. I didn’t read every maternity book out there and I don’t freak out and go to Dr. Google over every little thing. One book I will recommend (and cannot recommend enough!) is Bringing Up Bebe. It discusses treating your baby as a person with an innate sense of self awareness and how you cannot forget to take care of YOU after the baby. Congratulations on your nephew, Dax is a sweet name!
