HIIIII FROM NEW YORK!

What’s up?!

Nothing much here, just eating wayyyy too much, trying to walk off the calories, working, enjoying a few cantaloupe mimosas ( yes. REAL LIFE. ), AND FREEZING.

But you know what’s fun? Moving…& then having to leave while you’re in the middle of moving. I’m not complaining but it’s sort of stressing me out that I’m away from home when our house is in boxes.

In other news: why does New York City have the best food ever? I’m not too attached to specific foods ( well, besides lemon-everything, warm sourdough bread, & the occasional bowl of Flaming Hot Cheetos ) so it’s surprising how much I love the food.

If you follow TSC on Instagram you know I died for Jack’s wife Freda. We’re also loving Perla ( THE PASTA IS RIDIC ) & lately I’ve become reallll in to cappuccinos with hemp milk. Don’t judge until you try them. We found a charming coffee shop in Ralph Lauren by our hotel so each morning Michael & I get up and start our day with a hemp cappuccino ( so Euro, right? ). Although this isn’t entirely true because Michael makes fun of me for getting hemp & opts for the pasteurized milk. Hey, I pick my battles. Getting him off McDonald’s Egg McMuffins was 384728 battle. Milk will be number 384729.

{ Michael bought me this early Christmas gift…isn’t this cute?! }

When I come back home, I’ll be going real light on the carbs & stepping up my barre game…that’s for damn sure. In the meantime, you can catch me in SoHo in a beanie, gloves, boots, & basically a whole body suit walking off the pasta.

Little update: I’ve been working on the health/fitness/beauty budgeting series so that’s coming to a blog near you in the near future. Also, my stepmom of Burlap & Crystal just launched the cutest baby line, so if you’re looking for a holiday gift for a baby then check this cuteness out!

Until next time, Lauryn xx

    1. Not letting me reply to your reply, but oh well.

They both look great! But how about the one in that killer velvet number?

I’m sure it would be a bit much for everyday, but you look gorgeous glammed up like that!

  1. I love NYC, but yes it is cold. And it took me a long time to get my hubby to switch to brown rice from white, but he still eats those big white bagels on the weekends. No big deal I guess. Live it up and have fun, worry about the extra lbs. later. It’s the holidays anyways. 🙂

  2. I feel like such a creeper insta commenting but I seriously died for this post. When my boyfriend and I went to Portland for Labor Day (you guys HAVE to go if you haven’t already — International Rose Garden was my heaven and the restaurants were incredible), I tried the hemp coffees for the first time and fell in love. I would LOVE to see your spin on hemp recipes. Also, this post is perfection because my best friend just had her little baby girl last month so I am looking for some prezzies to send to her in Dallas and that shop is just the cutest and made my gift giving so much easier. So glad you are loving NYC – def check out Campbell Apartment if you have time in GCS! You will feel like you just walked into some speakeasy during Prohibition Era. Good luck with the battles – I’m in the middle of one mine with my man with Starbucks and their b-fast sandwiches. #thestruggleisreal

  3. Can you post some links to Michael’s clothing as well? I need to do some Christmas shopping for my fiancé and he could use some of your fiancé’s BBC (Bad Boy Charm). Thanks! Bisous

  4. I’m jealous! I bet New York City is even better at christmas time! And I love love love hemp milk cappuccinos or almond milk ones. So much healthier than the real deal and taste delicious! Luckily a lot of coffee shops in London serve them now.

    xx Alex

  5. Welcome back to New York! You should try One Lucky Duck and if you’re hanging around Soho go to Spring Street Natural. It’s one of the best restaurants ever. Ooh, and another good place in that neighborhood is called Delicatessen.

  6. Enjoy! I miss living there so much, yes even in the polar vortex!! Great thing about NYC is that walking is mandatory so you burn soooo much more than you think. If you’re looking for amazing and delist healthy food try Westville (squash is to die) and Chloe’s all fruit soft serve (cold but soooo good) xx

  7. So I live in New York City and honestly walking is your savior because the food is THAT GOOD. You can’t pass it up when it’s all around you, so atleast getting some cardio in on your way to and from your meal helps! Glad to hear you’re enjoying your time here!
