OMFG.
I pulled my neck SO bad on Friday.
Like, I went to change lanes on the freeway & literally couldn’t turn my head.
Similar to one big stiffy.
So because of the pain, I decided to take Saturday & Sunday off to rest.
But today I decided to peel my lazy ass out of bed to work out. Afterwards I went for an overdue, much needed medical massage ( << more on this lil secret later ).
Ok, & guess what? Supposedly rest isn’t always ‘so good’ for you.
I spoke with a trainer, nutritionist, & the masseuse today and they all were separately consistant on their opinion: you need to move- not rest.
Laying around with a muscle ache= no blood circulation. Most of the time to heal the aching muscle(s), movement is essential.
If your ankles are swollen, walk around. If you’re neck hurts do exercises that are the opposite of compression ( so say no to push-ups! ).
And duh, after my workout/massage/green juice, I felt ten times better.
Because movement is key.
In other news…I got a rice cooker. Carly’s post was total inspo for me to cook quinoa from home.
Am I turning into an old lady?
Just sayin’.

{ Finally received my new mouse pad in the mail }
{ Watermelon, organic honey, & lemon from True Foods Kitchen }
OMG I love your mouse pad, where is it from?
Ditto! I need a new one at work.
I think it’s this one here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/130241179/peach-and-black-geometric-soft-fabric?ref=sr_gallery_5&ga_search_query=gold+mouse+pad&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all 🙂
Yes! That’s it :-)! xx.
Movement IS KEY! Preach! I do to all my friends/family/clients & once they understand they can’t be just laying around wasting away – problem solved!
Ha! I bought quinoa when I did my grocery shopping yesterday after reading Carly’s post! Haven’t invested in a rice cooker yet though . . .
I am a big believer in MOVING rest meaning on “rest” days you should go on a walk or take a light hike or cycle around nothing to extreme but get that heart beating and blood flowing. I have noticed a HUGE improvement in my body when I take active rest days and take a stretchy type yoga class and walk vs. not doing anything at all. I also feels this lifts my mood! Thanks for sharing your delights 🙂 Love + Shine CourtStar
just had a med massage for my back yesterday… the best thing ever for aches and pains!
hope your neck is feeling better and NEED to know where that mousepad is from!

The watermelon drink sounds delicious! Hope your neck is better soon!
