So. I have a problem. Ask any of my friends/family/acquaintances/etc. to confirm the following: I.am.always.late. This problem has become a recurring joke amongst all of them. It’s my biggest character flaw & something that I’m constantly trying to improve. After I was a half hour late to a party, my friend, Steve emphasized that lateness compromises integrity; I realize the importance of being prompt and want to change! At this point I’ll try anything– any tips on what keeps you punctual?
Oh, & naturally this post is making me late to dinner.

I am chronically tardy as well, so any tips your other followers offer, I am all ears.
Lol my family as a whole are always late to things, and my sis has definatly taken this trait to heart where as I always seem to be early for things and constantly find myself waiting 10mins at the bus stop…
But to stop my sister missing the bus all the time we have set the microwave clock (the only clock downstairs) a couple of mins fast so you always think you have less time than you really do.
I am the complete opposite! My friends make fun of me because I am ALWAYS early! I have to force myself to leave late!! I agree with setting your clock ahead! That works well. Also, my tip would be to not have any distractions when you are getting ready. No TV, computer, music, etc. Focus on getting ready only. It is also helpful to give yourself more time than you think you need to get ready. Hope this helps.
hah so can relate to this. this is a 4 step process… i set one alarm on my phone that is 15 minutes before i need to leave but i tell myself that i should be out the door when that is off..or that its GO time.
The next alarm is 5 minutes from the “real” leave time and the 3rd i have to be in my car.
My clocks are also 5 minutes fast which i set my phone alarm to coorindate with this. my phone is super easy to set alarms to but i have to do it and it works- never late!
I’m generally on time or early, but I have friends that can’t seem to get ready on time (ever!). So, it’s sometimes good to tell yourself a “new” start time for the event. For instance, if dinner starts at 7, tell yourself it starts at 6:30. That way, when it hits 6:30 and you’re just finishing getting ready and think you’re late you’ll actually have 30 mins to get there! Or tell your friends to give you “fake” start times. I used to tell my roommate we had to leave 30 mins earlier than we actually had to.
I am ALWAYS early- I have a major fear of offending anyone by being late. My trick (that works!) is the same as the above – set your clocks ahead at least ten minutes – BUT – the trick is to set them all for a different number of minutes fast, and an odd number, like 11 or 13 – that way, you never know exactly how much extra time you have so you will always hurry. Even better, get your boyfriend to do the clocks for you and then you really won’t know!
