Well isn’t this a fun little spin: today I’m interviewing my hot little sister, Faye Evarts.

Sista, sista!

But before I introduce her, can we talk about THAT hair?! She’s done nothing to it- it’s AMAZING. So, so, so thick &
luscious. Rubber bands don’t even reach around her ponytail it’s so damn thick…super jeal, right?!

Ok, so anyway I’m super excited to introduce you to Faye ( BTW: I’m making the kale salad recipe she shares for dinzy tonight ).Enjoy:

Faye Evarts: Hiii! I’m Faye Evarts & I’m twenty one years old and I live in Newport Beach. I’m a San Diego native  & also Lauryn’s little sister. I am just venturing into the blogging world & it’s absolutely amazing! My sister inspired me with TSConf & Blog-Doo.

My blog, Evillarts, is focused on accessories. My main goal is to help you find “saves” ( inexpensive items ) for all those high fashion pieces you’re dying over! I’ve always been inspired with the fashion world and the artistic aspects of it; it’s a huge passion of mine…but it can be very pricey! Over the years, I have mastered my own style with incorporating less expensive accessories into my everyday wardrobe. Because money can’t buy style! Anyway I’m so excited to share all my saves & craves with everyone.

When it comes to health, just recently I’ve realized the real importance of taking good care of yourself & living a healthy lifestyle. I always ate whatever I wanted & was never happy with the results, but never had the willingness to change it. Now that I see the rewards, there is no other way to do it!

Changing my thoughts & behaviors has led me to an all around healthier lifestyle. I hardly EVER used to go to the gym or watch what I ate. Today, I feel so much better about myself! Exercise & diet change make all the difference- the more consistent you are the better!

+ Quick skinny tips or tricks?

FE: Cut bread out of your diet. Period. It seems obvious, but it’s not easy! I used to eat a lot of bagels, cereal etc. & once I exchanged it for fruit and veggies, I toned up FAST. I eat way smaller portions now too. Just satisfying my craving in a small way is enough.

Never deprive yourself, but less is more, so just have a bite or two. You’ll enjoy it more too!

Drink A LOT of fresh juice. Try to fill up on that throughout the day. At my favorite market, Mothers, I have them blend my favorite mixture: spinach, kale, pineapple, pear, & beets. It craves a sweet tooth & leaves me feeling rejuvenated the remainder of the day.

+ Weekly workout schedule?

FE: I work out every single day at the gym; I also walk/ride my bike everywhere because I’m a big believer in exercising outside. At the gym, I hit the treadmill first, then work on abs, & several variations of crunches. I also do squats & lunges before hitting the weights. I usually do fifty pound leg weights in sets & then work on my arms last with forty pound weights.

+ Favorite go-to healthy food?

FE: My favorite healthy snack is beet chips or a ‘Vega One’ smoothie ( with two bananas ). If I am in a rush I’ll grab a pear or a handful of green grapes.

+ Motivation to stay in shape?

FE: It boots my confidence & self esteem. It makes me an overall happier person & I know it’s good for my health. Occasionally, it is a nightmare when I am super busy/tired, but the hard work really pays off! Plus, it motivates me to motivate others!

+ World’s best beauty product?

FE: Crest Whitestrips. I’m obsessed with white teeth & nothing works better & faster than those bad boys! Plus, they’re cheap & you don’t have to spend a fortune at the dentist!

+ Natural beauty remedy?

FE: I love baby oil. I put it on religiously- it keeps my skin extra soft & glowing.

+ Quick, easy recipe?

+ Faye’s Favorite Kale Salad ( recipe by Sprouted Kitchen ):

2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1/4 teaspoon sea salt & fresh ground pepper

3 tablespoons of fresh dill &/or mint

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon mustard

Pinch of red pepper flakes

2-3 ounces sheep’s milk feta

A few handfuls of baby tomatoes, halved

1/3 cup pitted and chopped olives, Kalamata or any olive

1/4 of a red onion, minced

  4. Love this post! And I love your blog Faye! So excited for you 🙂 And I love how real your interview was. Giving up bread is torture, but cutting back on refined carbs like that does make a HUGE difference. Can’t wait to read more about your fashion & accessories savings 🙂
