If it were up to me, party planning would defs be a large part of my career. I mean, I literally get stupid-excited to set up a table like this.
Weird? Whatevs.
Anyway on Monday night I planned a little birthday soirée for my GF, Bri, which I can honestly say will be the highlight of my week. Between this homemade guac recipe, some chilled Pinot Grigio, & a few Skittles, Bri & I had a hilarious, memorable night. She’s a big personality, so mix that with some vino & let the good times rollllll.
It just so happens my perverted sense of humor + her perverted sense of humor can, uhhhh, well, get us in to some trouble.
Ok. Let’s get down to biz. Here’s my DIY birthday table:
1.} Use bright napkins that match the color theme.
2.} Wine, duh.
3.} Add a sexy prezzie!
4.} Flowers brighten up the room. Roses are too romantical. Use playful flowers like these:
5.} A small cupcake stand substitutes well for displaying chips ( or endive lettuce ; ) ), dips, veggies, &/or fruit. Because if you’re drinking wine, who really needs dessert?
6.} Fresh berries with toothpicks are a fun detail. We added them to our wine + some ice cubes ( details on that here )
7.} I think people like what they like, so gift cards are the perf gift. Just because you like board games, doesn’t mean your friends do.
8.} Grab some colorful candy & add it to pretty wine glasses or bowls. It adds vibrant detail.
Looks great! What wines do you prefer? Do you have any tips on smarter options calorie-wise?
This looks great! I love the berries/ice/wine melange and gift cards are always the perfect present!

Such a sweet little party for your friend and I love the healthy substitutions. I feel like I’m always the person bringing the fruit kabobs and veggie platter to parties, but they always get devoured!
