LET’S BE CLEAR: Getting Dressed Up Can Be Quite The Chore, No?

I mean there’s the outfit, the hair, the makeup, the perfume/skin care/shaving, blah, blah, blah, blibbity, blah. So obviously when I find a go-to outfit that’s easy, I fully commit.

By fully commit, I mean sometimes I wear it more than once. You know, more than once a week. This outfit is one of those outfits.

Relaxed hole-y jeans, a cropped sweater with a 90’s vibe baby doll tank ( such a good Urban Outfitter’s find! ), & a flannel around the waist…and I’m good to go. And if you know me, you know 99.9 percent of the time I’m wearing white shoes.

And can we talk about hair? Because lately I’m into the NO F’s GIVEN hair. This means buh-bye perfectly coifed, curled outward hair…Taking it a step further & throwing it into a low pony is always casual chic too. Add some thin, delicate hoop earrings & I’m feeling it.

I’ve said it once ( twice? ) & I’ll say it again: ponytails & messy buns are red hot. They’re effortless & different while maintaining an I-don’t-care-what-you-think attitude.

I LOVE.

DO YOU?

Anyway, lately this kind of outfit with sex pot hair is just doing it for me.

For some reason I feel like the outfits we’re all committed to just really need to be dry cleaned & we’re entirely too lazy to do so. It’s really just easier to wear it 2 to 3 (or 4?) times a week.

Are you fully committed to a go-to outfit? Would love to hear.

Chat soon, lauryn x

  1. I must say this is my favorite look ever! Working from home, I always wear workout clothes…when I do get dressed, it is casual like this. The easier the better lol! Really like those jeans, how is the fitting on them? Are they true to size?

  2. Oh boy I love love love that flannel and I agree, especially during the darker colder months its easier to have a go to outfit for those mornings where nothing feels right! I can’t get that messy ponytail work for me though.. I need to watch more youtube videos I guess 😉

  3. I love this look too! It just has to be easy to be worth it. My philosophy is that the BEST look was the EASIEST to put together, and still looks presentable.

For me, it’s a flowy silk top (bring on the Equipment shirts and silk Aritzia tanks) and skinnies with moto boots. Hair? As long as I can go without washing it!

  4. Love this look. I am always in my workout clothes (even at work…oops) and when I do dress up my go-to is all black. I have a blazer that has completely overstayed its welcome, but I can’t help it! It looks good with EVERYTHING!
