I’m not a fan when it comes to drinking my cals ( unless it’s wine, green tea, fresh juice, &/or the occasional light, cold beer ). Concentrated juice & sugar-filled lattes gross me out. So when my friend, Maggie, gave me the oh-so-simple-it’s-almost-ridic, beauty tip of starting the day off with hot water + lemon, I was immediately hooked.
I mean, duh. Everyone knows I’m in love with lemons.
Anyway, this tipsy-wispy is no joke, peeps.
1.} Boosts the immune system: if you’re anything like me you need a swift kick in the ass to start the day. Lemon water stimulates the brain & nerve functions.
2.} Balances pH: this is my favorite thing ever: drinking lemon water everyday reduces your bod’s overall acidity ( fun fact: it’s one of the most alkalizing foods around ). Even though it’s acidic it metabolisms alkaline. Yay!
3.} Weight loss (!!!): lemons help fight hunger cravings. Sold.
4.} Flush it out!: the juice from lemons help flush out sickie materials. This helps with constipation & digestion.
5.} The best diuretic: ahhh. So great to kill bloat. Drink this to prep for a bikini moment. Lemons make you pee more which rids toxins.
6.} Buh-bye pimples!: the Vit C component helps decrease wrinkles & blemishes.
7.} Rids bad breath: because no one wants bad breath.
9.} Later, stress: Vitamin C is the first thing to go when you’re under pressure or stress. Bottoms up!
Remember: not everything in life has to be so hard. This tip is easy. So make it an AM habit & thank me ( & Maggie ) later.
+ Note: eating too much lemons can eat away enamel on the teeth’s surface. Since I’m big on lemons I recently purchased glass straws ( hey, I’m also big on white teeth ).
