Oh, hiiiiii fruit smoothie in a bottle that’s full of nutrients without sickie GMO’s!
Exciting!!! Suja Juice just introduced a new healthy smoothie drink: Suja Elements.
& lemme tell ya: it’s bomb.com. Plus it’s less expensive.
So say buh-bye to nasty-ass, disgusting, fake Naked Juice & hello to Element!
Anyway, when I heard about these bad boys, I went straight to my babe, Annie.
Naturally.
Here’s the answers to any/all of those burning questions:
+ Tell us about Suja’s new line, Elements.
Annie Lawless: Suja Elements is our second line of organic cold-pressed juice drinks that are the ahhhh-mazing! We’ve paired Suja’s epically delicious taste component with the high level nutrition of interesting superfoods like camu camu, baobab, & spirulina to create drinks that are functional, refreshing, and supportive of your daily activities.
+ What makes them different than any product on the market?
AL: With Elements, we took our passion for environmental and social-well being a step further by partnering each flavor with an important social or environmental cause. The Elements Cause Collective consists of 6 non-profits focused on four key concerns: health & nutrition, sustainability, conservation and human rights. When a Suja Elements bottle is purchased, 20 cents is donated to the specific cause associated with that flavor. We hope to bring greater awareness and assistance to the missions of important causes like New Eyes, Teens Turning Green and Citizens for GMO Labeling.
Additionally, these juices are 100% organic, cold pressed, & raw! They also have about 20% less sugar than leading brands and no added “natural” flavors, colors or preservatives. We have nothing to hide, what you see is what you get!
+ How do you incorporate them in to your day?
AL: These drinks are a 12oz serving and have roughly two hundred calories. This is the perfect amount for a post-workout replenishment, mid-day snack, or small meal replacement when you aren’t very hungry or prefer to have multiple small meals throughout the day.
+ Can you substitute a meal with them?
AL: Yes! One of these can serve as a small meal if you are a grazer ( like Lauryn ) or if you are eating something else small ( like an avocado or handful of almonds ) to supplement the calories of a full meal. They are a great source of easily digestible carbohydrates and are packed with essential vitamins and minerals to keep your body running optimally. I like to have half a bottle of classic Suja before my workout, and a full Suja Elements post workout mid-morning ( sometimes I will put a scoop of brown rice protein in and shake it up if my workout was particularly tough ). That satisfies my breakfast requirements. I don’t always feel hungry again before lunch, but if I do, I finish off the second half of my morning Suja and throw another one in the mix if lunch is going to be on the later side. Then, mid-afternoon I like to have another Suja Elements instead of a snack and right before dinner another Suja classic. This keeps me super hydrated, curbs my hunger, and floods my body with nutrients. By the time dinner rolls around, I am not starving and usually eat on the lighter side which works great for me because I sleep better when I’m not digesting a huge meal.
+ What’s the difference between Suja Classic & Suja Elements?
AL: Suja Classic are straight up fruit and vegetable juices. They have a higher concentration of greens and no extras added – just the crisp, clean, fruit and vegetable taste/nutrition profile. Suja Elements are more a of a smoothie juice. They have a sweeter base with more of a pureed consistency and superfoods, concentrated green powders, and protein added (varies by flavor). This turns up the notch on functional nutrition for a more active individual or just someone looking for a bit more substance. These are AWESOME for kids too!! They love love love them.
+ Let’s talk ingredients. Is everything in Elements healthy?
AL: You bet! Instead of adding synthetic vitamins & vitamin powders, we add superfoods which are already high in those things to deliver a mega dose of antioxidants, amino acids, omegas, and nutrients the way nature intended– in their whole package. For example, camu camu is the plant kingdom’s highest source of Vitamin C. Instead of adding ascorbic acid to achieve a great level of Vitamin C, we use camu camu use in a balanced and harmonious way that enhances the taste profile of the fruits and vegetables we use. Every single ingredient we use is of the highest, purest, most natural quality.
+ Biggest misconception about typical smoothie drinks? Why is Elements diff?
AL: I think a lot of us are disillusioned by most smoothie drinks on the market because there are often so many ingredients and so much sugar! With Elements, there is sugar but it’s all naturally occurring from the produce and there is nothing but pure whole fruits, vegetables, & superfoods added. We don’t use coloring, artificial flavors, sweeteners, or synthetic ingredients. The drinks clock in around 200 calories each (some are much less) which isn’t a huge dent in your caloric intake for the day. Many of the existing packaged smoothies on the market have 3-400 calories per serving!!
+ One word to describe Suja Elements?
AL: There are three words we at Suja kept near & dear in the creation of ultra nutritious, socially responsible line so I’ll share them all: Epic. Purposeful. Grateful.

I want to try every one of those!! They sounds SO tasty and I LOVE Suja juices.
I think I need some 101. 🙁
Why are Naked juices bad?
Naked juices are full of sugar and pureed fruit and veggies! YOu want to go for a more natural, lower carb/calorie approach to juices! 🙂 (Don’t worry, TONS of people think that naked juice is good for you, they market it to be!)
