Razor Burn Is Just The Worst- Here’s How To Prevent It

How To Prevent Razor Burn: A TENDSKIN BREAKDOWN | by the skinny confidential

I feel like this is a question every girl has at some point in her life: HOW THE HELL DO I GET RID OF THIS RAZOR BURN?

But right? There’s nothing worse than sliding into your one-piece bathing suit only to look down to see a red, spotty situation…Oh wait, there is something worse: when it’s ingrown too!

Like, UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

It’s such a buzzkill right. I’m like “do I put foundation around my crotch area? Or do I opt for a simple cover-up? Or should I just go ahead & cancel the whole pool day?”

You know what I mean? Tell me this has happened to you? If it hasn’t, well aren’t you the lucky one.

Anyway, get excited because I have the actual witch doctor fix.

This is a fix that I discovered in high school actually. All my friends got on board IMMEDIATELY. Seriously, my girlfriends passed this around like Rite-Aid green apple Smirnoff.

SO the secret is out now: it’s called Tend Skin. AND IT IS REALLY, SERIOUSLY THE CURE TO RAZOR BUMPS, INGROWN HAIRS, & RAZOR BURN. I feel like I don’t even need to go on & on about it because it’s one of those things that will just get you results. Plain & simple. Whether you’re a waxer or a shaver, this shit is the shit. Recently I started to keep it on hand when I travel too ( there’s a mini size! )- those annoying, cheap-ass hotel razors give you the worst razor burn, you know? I don’t mean to be wildly critical but they do.

…Because they always leave you with razor burn AND so do dull razors & certain soaps.

Had I been using Tend Skin every time I travel, I could have actually used the stupid, ganky razors! That’s right, you can even get away with crap razors. Tend Skin is that much of a game changer. Really, it’s like a makeover for your bikini line, arm pits, legs, whatever!

So wait, what exactly is Tend Skin?

Well according to their breakdown: “Ingrown hairs form after hairs have been cut or otherwise removed below the skin surface. As the hairs continue to grow, they curl over within the follicles and fail to exit to the surface. The result is an unsightly ingrown hair- formed “bump” on the skin. Regular application of Tend Skin Liquid will reduce the appearance of existing ingrown hairs NOTE: do not tweeze ingrown hairs or razor bumps. Tweezing tears the hair papilla in the skin from which the hair grows, damages the skin and can cause scarring!. There is no other product that will reduce the appearance of ingrown hairs like Tend Skin Liquid.

Men & women suffer from ingrown hairs. Men get ingrown hairs on their beard, neck and scalp areas. Women get them after hair removal from shaving, waxing, electrolysis or laser on their legs, bikini lines, and underarms. Tend Skin Liquid applied before the problems arise and shortly after these procedures will reduce the appearance of these problems afterwards!”

FUN!

What else? If you much more prefer roll-on application, they have that too! The roll-on applicator is kind of like that vintage crystal deodorant. You simply roll it on the razor bump & it gets the job done just as well. You should know you can put it basically anywhere on your bod…which is ideal!

Also: the scent! It doesn’t smell bad. I hate bad smells. Especially when it comes to applying it on your body.

The product ALSO happens to be cruelty-free.

( Another random fact: it also removes ink from your skin, which is efficient if you ever get Sharpie on your skin ).

And of course, feel free to recommend this to your boyfriends & husbands for their beards or neck.

I’ve tried a million different beauty products & this one my friends, is a STAND OUT STAR.

Yes sure- it’s strange that a little liquid can make such a difference but it does.

The difference is IMMEDIATE. First of all, you just have to put it on a cotton ball, rub in the affected area(s), & wait a bit. ALSO I use Tend Skin to prevent any redness situation from even happening. So ya, it’s preventative too.

I get mine on Amazon.

And if you’re wondering, I like to shave with a Hot Shave Razor lately. For some reason they’re just stronger. Sometimes I’ll selfishly steal Michael’s which drives him bat shit crazy when he catches me shaving my armpits with his razor. What can you do.

OK- enjoy this little, blue bottle of goodness. Hope you endure NO more bumpy, ingrown annoying-ness.

Happy Friday! x lauryn

  1. OH MY FRICKIN GAWWWWDDD, THANK U LAURYN THE FN’ MIND READER! LOL! So I use a men’s razor, I always have, bc I agree they ARE superior for some reason! I don’t have ANY problems with razor burn or ingrown hairs on my body. No I’m not that lucky, it has happened a million times! (I know what works for me from experimenting with diff products over the years.) So yay, I thought I was set for life… buttt then female celebs had to start dermaplaining their faces! Needless to say it’s no secret now and everyone does it. So of course I need to indulge bc I HATE hair on me, lol, even tho it’s blonde. I used to almost shave EVERYTHING when I was younger: legs, arms, underarms, who-ha, lower back, YOU NAME IT! Only bc I liked being smooth, who doesn’t right? I just really don’t have the time I used to anymore after becoming a mommy. So I let the arms go, and keep up with the rest SUPER CASUALLY (oops sue me, I’m a stay-at-home mom!?)
So I start shaving my face, NOT WITH A RAZOR, but this tool for YOUR FACE! It’s supposed to be more gentle and make the hairs grow in less blunt so it appears less coarse when growing in. I figured this was the safest way to go bc I can’t afford professional dermaplaining. Welp, let’s just say my face HATES ME, and can be SUPER SENSITIVE with products! So no ingrowns anywhere else on my body, but my frickin’ FACE! Like, for real?! It looks like I have acne at 31…WTFF?! (Yes, that’s a double F on purpose!?)
Now that I’ve done it, I have to keep doing it?? so I don’t look like a man with a blonde 5 o’clock shadow… DAMN! I should have given this more thought, apparently. I can’t remember the name of this tool right now, but my M-I-L gave me one bc we were talking about shaving our faces, and it doesn’t give her ingrowns or razor burn at all. So to make A SUPER LONG, ANNOYING, story short(er)… it IS way better than anything else I’ve tried and way more gentle. Although I’m STILL getting ingrowns just not as many, and not as bad! Sweet, huh? I just can’t get my freakin’ face to “get with the program”, and now I’m screwed! Seeing this post was like the magical answer I have been looking for the past cpl months! I’m DEF giving this a try! Thank u, thank u, thank u! It isn’t cute, but it’s not SO BAD that I would actually consider letting all my face hair grow back in, bc …NO, just NO!
Anyways, I’m sorry this is like 7 pages long but I’m a super thorough, detail-oriented, weirdo! #relatable ? I’m sure you’ve seen me lurking around b4, so u already know! Just wanted to say thank u in advance cuz I feel like you just saved my face! Love you long time, girl! Muah!???

  2. Yes!!! I have been using this stuff for months ever since I started getting regular Brazilian waxes. I used to get the WORST ingrowns that led to me tweeting and scarring. So yeah, k have some scars that I hate. This stuff definitely works. I recommend it to everyone as well!
