Ok so if you guys read The Skinny Confidential Lifestyle Guide & this post you already know that I AM OBSESSED WITH WEN cleansing conditioner. Their products are bomb.com ( << just realness ).
So when they asked me to create a fig recipe to match their fig conditioner, I said “uhhhh…duh.”
I genuinely love WEN, so it’s kind of a win/win. The creator of WEN, Chaz Dean just understands a woman’s hair. My locks always look super luscious after using the product.
AND FIGS!!!
YOU GUYSS!!! I mean…it’s all about figs.
So today I present: honey/fig jam.
It’s kinda like this little quick raspberry jam but it’s almost better because what the hell is better than figs x honey ( plus some lemon & chia seed )? So Martha S.
Going off on a tangent here: remember Fig Newton’s? Makes me feel so nostalgic. Everyone ate them when they were younger? Yellow box? Anyway I can vividly remember my parents thinking they were fully healthy.
Whelp- welcome to 2014, because guess what?
They’re filled with GMO’s…UGGGH.
So attention Fig Newton lovers: this raw honey fig jam will replace the so-called ‘healthy cookies.’
And FIGSSSS!! Like, the real figs…they’re full of benefits. To name a few: they are filled ( like, FILLED ) with fiber, they keep your digestive system healthy ( nudge, nudge, wink, wink ), & are a major antioxidant/super food.
For this recipe: cut figs in half, scoop fig-goodness out ( I used the best invention ever: a melon scooper ), add to a tiny bowl, add 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, 2 squeezes of lemon, 3 squeezes of raw honey, & mash/mash/mash ( ‘Crush’ mashing bowl found here ). Spread on your favorite piece of toast ( I prefer a Rudi’s spelt English muffin with this 5 second recipe ). Other options: add to two ingredient pancakes, use as a baked potato or sweet potato topping, &/or crackers with cheese.
So eat your figs, people.
Ok, so I’m totally going to go wash my hair with fig conditioner & eat fig jam.
Peace, Lauryn

I’ve always been curious about WEN so it’s good to know you’ve had success with it!
I LOVE IT!
Omg I’m with you – figs = absolute pleasure for me! There is nothing better. And fig newtons need to clean up their act! Ugh until then I’ll be enjoying this honey fig jam on everything. Oh I bet it’s amazing on pancakes! Thanks for sharing and I’ll have to check out WEN fig conditioner.
SOOOO GOOD on pancakes!! Adding that to the post! YUM
Figs are so perfect.
Love this idea. I totally could eat this up on a rice cake. I’m kinda over my current toppings.

Yum! The recipie looks delish!!
Regarding Wen….can you please tell me how you use it?
I used it 3x and gave up. It left my hair super greasy, flat and limp. Maybe I was using it wrong?
Lauryn you have gorgeous hair!! I’ll have to check through your posts to see if you ever did a healthy long hair post, but if not could you please do one? I’ve been trying to get my hair long and healthy after extensions and blonde (went back to brunette)
I use it once a week. I barely wash my hair! Here’s a hair post: https://www.theskinnyconfidential.com/messy-hair-careeeee/
Gotta try this!

: ) glad you liked it!
where did you find your figs?! I keep checking the farmers and mother’s market and never see any!!
I found them at Jimbo’s in Del Mar! x
I’m totally digging your jams! I have a hard time finding figs, but whenever I scoop them up whenever I see them. I will definitely give this a try.
Thanks!

I LOVE JAM!! Ahhh! It’s so fun to add to weird things like potatoes or spaghetti squash or even oatmeal!
My hairdresser said that Wen is a no no because it clogs your scalp and prevents hair growth. Bummer. Yummy jam, though! Figs are to die for.
I haven’t had that problem!! But yes, I LOVE FIGS!!
Wen is everything! It’s my number one when it comes to my hair secret post. 🙂
I am weirdly obsessed with figs…must make this!
Hi, I am making the fig honey. I had a pack of dried figs with me for a while. Not knowing what to do, I was about to chuck it away, luckily I saw your post. Thanks for the wonderful yet easy recipe.
I like to take dried figs and walnuts, as well as brazil nuts and peanuts. Dates can be messy, but are a nice treat. If eating dried fruits and salted nuts it’s best to drink a little more water.
thanks for sharing !
