Tiffany Hendra is on the blog today sharing JUST SO MANY tips & tricks. From beauty product to mindfulness practices, to her favorite health meals & snacks. This post is just packed with value.

When I first met Tiffany Hendra I was casually stalking YouTube and found her raving about IT Cosmetics CC cream. Obviously you all know that because of Tiffany, IT Cosmetics became on of my ride-or-die beauty products.

Tiffany does it all: TV personality, model, female empowerment coach, entrepreneur, beauty & wellness junkie. In this post you’ll learn all about her AM & PM routines, skincare she swears by, 5 empowerment tips & why she loves a rebounder first thing in the morning.

Let’s get right to it. Welcome to the blog Tiffany.

Introduce yourself to The Skinny Confidential audience & tell us how you got into the beauty world.

Tiffany Hendra: Hello Gorgeous!  My journey from tomboy to full-fledged beauty junkie began as a little girl in my mama’s kitchen during a Mary Kay party she was hosting. I was fascinated with all the blush pink jars of lotions and potions scattering the table. Our eating place transformed into a girlie wonderland with each woman oooohhhing and aaahhing as they slathered the magic goop on their face. I was also fascinated how just a few jars could bring women together in such a special way creating hope and connection.

In middle school, I picked up my first Elle magazine and became even more mesmerized with the world of beauty, fashion and modeling. By 16, I was modeling  professionally in my hometown of Houston, TX, appearing on local commercials and newspaper ads. I did attempt college on a graphic art scholarship, but in my heart I  knew I was meant to be in the ads, not design them. The first chance I got, I grabbed my passport and got on the plane and out of my small town. From Milan to Mexico, Seychelles to South of France, Japan to Germany– traveling the world would become my university.

Modeling was fun, but I wanted to ‘see what I was made of’ and parlayed it into acting and TV hosting.  I headed West to LA in 1999 where I had a great career until the stress of running from my past took me down to rock bottom. I nearly overdosed on a cocktail of opiates, anti-anxiety meds and alcohol in a West Hollywood bathroom. Go time for my spiritual awakening!

After a long journey of self-discovery and healing, I knew I had to help other women on their spiritual empowerment, beauty and wellness journey.

I married together my love of TV hosting with this new passion and my Sanctuary Of Style YouTube channel and blog was born.

Currently, I am  thriving back in my home state of Texas with my Aussie hubby, Aaron. We were blessed to be cast on season 1 of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Dallas giving me a platform to grow my new business as an empowerment coach, transformational speaker and continue elevating my brand.

From 1:1 coaching to TikTok to my new series, #SoThrive with Tiffany Hendra you will find me sharing anything I discover (and actually use or implement) to help a woman fall madly in love with herself, live with unapologetic authenticity, make healthier choices from food to skincare and finally get out of survival mode and thrive.

Currently, after the past few years of the hormone rollercoaster of peri-menopause and now menopause, I have become an advocate for Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy and hormone optimization. I’m sick of docs just writing an antidepressant scrip for women instead of addressing the root issue. I’m sharing this journey publicly because no one is talking about it enough!

Share your morning routine, including skincare. We need all the details!

TH: The early morning is my absolute favorite part of the day. My philosophy is a great(ful) morning routine ensures a great day! It all starts with gratitude. When my feet touch the floor, I start thanking God for everything that comes to mind all the way from the bathroom to the kitchen. The only skincare products I use first thing in the morning are Dr. Thayers Rose Water Witch Hazel (several sprays all over the face) & The Ordinary Caffeine Eye Solution 5% + EGCG.

I continue my mental gratitude list to the kitchen and down a big glass of my lemon water, ACV and cayenne concoction. My hubby and I are boujee about our coffee and do bulletproof pour overs.  While the water is boiling, I jump on the rebounder (JumpSport is my favorite brand) for a few minutes then while I pour, I use The Skinny Confidential HOT MESS ICE ROLLER on my face. (My hubby has even started using your roller on his neck for his Vagus nerve).

Then, I take my coffee into the “spirit spot” and start my spiritual workout of breathwork, prayer, dynamic/visualization meditation, Bible reading, declarations and maybe some journaling. While I’m reading, I use my NuFace Trinity microcurrent device.  On a typical day, I head out for a powerwalk and slather on the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40.

If I get ALL of this done in the morning, my day is made before 9am and I feel like a total badass!

And nighttime routine?

TH: Now, my evening routine is much more basic and less “extra” than the morning. When I was younger, I admit to being ridiculously lazy with washing my face at night. I know, I know – that is beauty junkie 101, but I always fell asleep.

Now that my skin is maturing and changing as my hormones change I am much more diligent. I use the Dr. Dennis Gross AlphaBeta Wash, followed by his Daily Peel Wipes (but I use every other night). In between days, I tone with Bliss Pore Vanish. Then I press into my skin the iS Clinical Active Serum (every other night) and in between I use the Skin Medica TNS Serum.

While I go through these steps, I reflect on the day and focus on the blessings while repeating declarations and/or affirmations while I am in the mirror. Many people talk about morning affirmations, but I have found the evening routine and ending the day sets us up for a great morning.

What is your go-to foundation & why?

TH: There are a few for different reasons! For the past 15 years, I was obsessed with IT Cosmetics CC Cream for it’s coverage, natural look and quality SPF 50.

Just recently,  after going through scary Melanoma, I’ve been looking into more clean products and discovered ILIA. Their Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 is perfect for Summer giving you a dewy youthful glow. I love it because it is skincare in a makeup with Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide and squalane

Lastly, because I work on camera, it’s important to have full coverage for HD without SPF and I love a clean beauty line called Crunchi. Their Beautifully Flawless foundation is beautiful for camera.

What are 5 products you swear by & why?

TH: If I was on a deserted island and could only have 5 products, they would be:

+ Burt’s Bees Lip Balm

Why? It’s clean and the ONLY lip balm that doesn’t make my lips flake.

+ OSEA Undaria Algae Body Oil

Why? Because I stopped using pore clogging body lotion after skin cancer and this oil is decadent, healing, hydrating and like an antioxidant rich food for the skin.

+ Batiste Dry Shampoo for brunettes

Why? I hate to wash my hair so I live by dry shampoo and being brunette, most of them leave a white powdery film on my roots. Love this tinted one!

+ ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40

Why? As my skin matures, I’ve noticed if I wear too much makeup I look older. This serum skin tint literally takes 10 years off the look of your skin giving you a fresh, plump, dewy look. PLUS, it’s just an all-in-one which saves time. SPF, skincare and makeup in one bottle. Freaking love it.

+ Smashbox Cali Contour Palette + Highlighter

Why? This palette has everything you need from bronzer, contour without shimmer, highlighter without shimmer, blush and 2 different shimmer highlighters. Finally, a company got it right.

What are 5 empowerment tips that you think everyone could benefit from?

TH:

  1. KNOW YOUR WORTH: Knowing that you were fully worthy in your mama’s womb. Stop hustling for others to define your worth + value.
  2. SELF-OBSERVATION: Being empowered is about “taking your power back” and the daily self-observation of the areas you are making disempowering choices and giving your power away.
  3. POWERFUL LANGUAGE: Raise your awareness of what’s flying out of your mouth and use powerful language. For ex: Stop saying “sorry” for everything. Literally remove it from your rhetoric. Replace it with “excuse me.”
  4. THE RIGHT HOOD: An empowered woman stops blaming her circumstances and people. She takes ownership of her crown and full responsibility for her B.S. She takes up residence in the right “hood” – queenhood not victimhood.
  5. SPIRITUAL FITNESS: To live a truly empowered life is to be spiritually fit. Many are so focused on just fitting into their size 2 skinny jeans and being physically fit, but are spiritually anorexic. (That was me for most of my life!)

What do you think of ice? Are you liking the HOT MESS ICE ROLLER?

TH: Straight up,  I hate ice and never use it in my drinks and I can’t stand being cold either. BUT, in my modeling days, we learned to dunk our faces in a big bowl of ice water to shrink puffiness. Before ice rollers came on the scene, I would take an ice cube and rub it under my eyes. Ouch – that was not fun so thank God for the HOT MESS ICE ROLLER! The cheap ones do not hold a candle to the quality either. Not only do I love it for puffiness, but it’s amazing for my TMJ or when I get a headache.

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

TH: Crunchy/salty is always my first go-to snack so I’ve had to experiment to find healthy options, especially when I crave chips and salsa.

Love the From The Ground Up Cauliflower Tortilla Chips in Nacho Cheese dipped in Chipotle Bitchin’ Sauce Dip or Salsa. To be even healthier, I will slice organic cucumbers and dip those in salsa instead.

Favorite healthy meal to cook?

TH: We love slightly sauteed stir fry of broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, carrot, purple onions, garlic, ginger, amino acids soy sauce replacement and a drizzle of coconut oil served with either brown rice or quinoa topped with a sprinkle of sprouted pumpkin seeds.

What are some beauty tips you learned while being on The Real Housewives of Dallas?

TH: Lashes, lashes and bigger lashes! That was the first time I got lash extensions so I could be camera ready at all times without having to apply strips.

That has been a game-changer for my beauty routine! I cannot and will not go without my lashes. Oh and microblading my brows for the same reason so my brows are always on point and I don’t have to waste time filling them in.  If your lashes and brows are done, you “pop” more on camera or on stage at a speaking engagement. Lastly, spray tanning is something I started back in the day while living in Los Angeles, but it was also a huge part of my beauty routine for the show.

Tell us your #1 Amazon find.

TH: Speaking of spray tan and glow, I loved finding the Roxanne Rizzo Bronze Spray on Amazon. It’s literally like a filter in a can. Perfect when you just need a glow boost or when your legs need evening out for that cocktail dress.

Healthy cocktail of choice?

TH: After battling drugs, then continuing to abuse alcohol during RHOD because of the stress– I rarely drink anymore. I do not use the title “sober” and allow myself a glass of expensive champs for special occasions a few times a year.  But, back when I could drink I loved Bethenny Frankle’s SkinnyGirl Ritas! She even sent me a huge case of it.

How do you keep things tight? What is your workout routine?

TH: My workout routine must have variety and I feel into what my body needs daily because I’ve been on an adrenal healing journey. I used to grind and over-do it then learned my body responds better to light fluid workouts.

Powerwalking with my Bala ankle weights is great cardio, but it’s more of a moving meditation and “me” time to listen to podcasts (of, course I listen to TSC Him & Her) or audiobooks.

I love hot yoga in an infrared sauna as well as barre classes. The rebounder is also a non-negotiable part of my morning for moving any stuck energy. I’m in much better shape by working out intuitively instead of going beast mode.

Can you share a day in the life of eating for you?

TH: At the moment, I do intermittent fasting about 3 days a week and stop eating at 8pm then break the fast the next day at noon with a green protein smoothie of spinach, almond or oat milk, wild blueberries, strawberries (if they are in season) turmeric, functional mushrooms and collagen peptides.

If I’m not doing IF, I will make this smoothie after my morning meditation before a workout. If I do IF, I break the fast with either the smoothie or a slightly sauteed stir fry, then a snack around 4pm which is typically some type of cassava chips or cucumber and salsa or a handful of almonds or Trader Joe’s package of green olives. Ummm, I love to snack!

For dinner, we usually have a huge spinach salad with some raw veggies, olive oil and balsamic or AVC and lemon juice. We were plant-based for a few years (I’ve cycled on and off being vegan since I was 20) but both my hubby and I felt our body craving meat this year so we may have chicken breast or salmon on the salad. For dessert, we are obsessed right now with the So Delicious almond milk ice cream sandwiches. OMG!

How can someone plan out their journal in a way that empowers them?

TH: After my rock bottom, near overdose and spiritual awakening, I was in deep depression and ADD ruled my life. (I have now learned to harness my creative mind and do not even claim the diagnosis of ADD anymore.) So when I began trying to pray and meditate, I could NOT quiet my mind or focus so I began writing my prayers in journal form. This was a game changer for me!

Begin with gratitude. Write out anything and everything that floods your mind and spirit then transition into a morning “brain dump” which is what Julia Cameron of The Artist’s Way recommends. She calls them morning pages. Do not edit yourself or try to write perfectly. Literally “dump” everything that is swirling around in your mind. Releasing that cognitive overload is powerful.

Then, I love scripting out how the day will go especially if I have an important event or filming or teaching a workshop. Scripting is visualization in written word. I am a huge believer in visualization and seeing yourself and the outcome your desire for the day. Then, after I’ve gotten all that out of my mind and spirit, I end the journal session with a simple statement, “God, may I be used for the greater good of all.”

Tiffany Hendra on self-love

What have you found to be the #1 thing needed when it comes to self-love?

TH: The worth piece that I mentioned earlier. Many of the women I coach, were not seen and heard as a little girl. They were taught to hide and their voice didn’t matter or they weren’t worth being heard. This was the case in my own life as well. We must go inward to see and hear ourselves first. We hustle to be seen, heard, approved of, liked and validated externally, but love of self begins when you truly see, hear, accept, approve and validate YOURSELF. My deep desire is for all women to fall crazy madly in love with themselves. It shifts the world when a woman chooses herself!

What wellness practices do you do and how does it benefit your day?

TH: Oh, learning the latest wellness methodologies is my jam. I’m obsessed…

  1. Jumping on a rebounder to move energy and unclog lymph system.
  2. Contrast shower (between hot + cold water) for skin/collagen and lymph system. Also helps stimulate the brain and immune system.
  3. Infrared Sauna for detox and cellulite, cardiovascular and heavy metal detox.
  4. Vitality Swing aka Chi Machine for literal moving the chi in the body.
  5. Grounding on the earth barefoot for inflammation. I also use a grounding mat because I’m on the laptop and phone so much. Helps with EMF exposure.

What’s a book, podcast or resource you recommend?

TH: There are SO many, but the book I currently have my nose in is Life Force by Tony Robbins and Peter Diamandis, MD. They discuss the latest greatest technologies from stem cell research to NAD to AI.

Where can everyone find you? Pimp yourself out!
