Oy vey!! The food at trade shows SUCKS. Like, it’s allll crap. I mean, hmmmm, wow- I don’t know [ *scratching my head* ]? What should I chose for a lunch today? Sooo many options. Maybe I’ll go with that gallon of caramel popcorn, the deep dish pizza, ice cream, or the shitty orange chicken that’s been sitting around for hours.

Yeah. Not so much…

I’m confused- is it too much to ask to have a few un-processed food options at a three day event that caters to 17,000 people?

Here’s my advice for this situation: BYOL = bring your own lunch. Yah, yah. I know- you don’t have time. BUT make time- it’s your health. Throw a banana, an apple, some hummus + baby carrots, a Lara bar, grapes, string cheese, 100 calorie packs, pretzels, a hard boiled egg, &/or whatever, in your purse.

It’s difficult when you’re staying at a hotel, but try utilizing their snack shop & mini bar. I even order extra fruit at breakfast & take it to-go for later in the day. Easy, peasy.

Worst case scenario: you really had no time. So, you’re stuck with the junk. Modify it. Get a burger & take the bun off. Have a small serving of caramel popcorn. Enjoy one slice of pizza, instead of ten.

And then bring lunch the next day.

  1. It’s so great that you don’t blow your healthy diet when there is junk surrounding you! Kudos! I was so proud of myself, I only had 2 small pieces of candy last night! Snacks are so great, I’m a waitress at Red Robin and my co-workers make fun of me because I bring my own dinner and snacks. You grandma texting is so adorable! My mom texts like that too, with lots of s p a c e s in between. Haha!!

    1. Bring snacks to work is great! So smart ; ). My Dad and I were dying laughing at my grandma’s texts’. So funny.

  2. YES! It is always terrible for me when I go to conventions and I’m in the health industry, LOL! Seriously, health conventions have the same type of food options, can you believe that? With that said, you see a lot more people bringing their lunch and I’m one of them. But if you forget to go shopping and put stuff together… you are faced with… almost NO options.

  3. random question…You’re eyebrows are fabulous! any tips for those who have plucked too long and now they’re super skinny?? cuz i naturally have thicker eyebrows but haven’t had them normal for years and years and years. What do I do now??

    1. Thanks doll! I am doing a post on brows. I like them thicker than norm. I would grow them out and in a month go to a professional to have them shaped. Also, while you’re waiting for them to grow in, use a brow kit for color & fullness.
