Day drinking is fun. Especially on a beautiful Saturday when it’s eighty degrees outside and you’re surrounded by friends & the beach. Unfortunately, it also can make you overeat, become extremely dehydrated, & often times is accompanied by a late night pounding headache. Here are some of my tips that I swear by when I am downing afternoon bubbly:
Day Drinking 101:
+ For every cocktail, drink a glass of water [ << this one’s important ].
+ Eat protein while drinking [ Saturday’s choice? Spinach, mushroom & zucchini egg omelette w/ fruit ].
+ Try not to mix…too much [ I mixed champagne + one spicy Bloody Mary ].
+ Carry snacks [ ideas: 100 calorie packs, dried fruit, & nuts ].
+ Do not party into the night [ if this happens, at least change clothes & brush your hair ].
+ Don’t overdrink, no one likes a sloppy drunk.
+ Use water, instead of bloating soda water for mixed drinks [ ex. vodka & water w/ a lemon ].
+ Order appetizers, not meals.
Lastly, if you’re going to choose to drink, at least eat right. Balance it out. There’s absolutely no reason to mack down a medium pizza & fries.
