[ Mummy hot dogs: 5 grams of fat…as opposed to a beef hot dog with 16 grams of fat ]
Today will be my last Halloween post; it’s time to hone in on Thanksgiving [ so excited ]! I made these turkey weenies on a sunny day while everyone was relaxing & craving Sunday comfort food. Typically, beef hot dogs are filled with awful ingredients that do not digest well [ they’re filled with nitrates and nitrites– yuck ]. These Trader Joe’s all natural uncured turkey dogs wrapped in reduced fat Pillsbury dough are a healthier choice with a fun twist.
** Makes 4 turkey dogs
1 package of Trader Joe’s all natural, uncured turkey dogs
1 package of Pillsbury reduced fat dough
1 organic brown egg
Whole Foods yellow mustard & ketchup [ for dipping ]
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Whip up one egg, unwrap dough and paint dough with egg mixture. Use a pizza slicer to cup up dough in to strips. Wrap sliced dough creatively around each hot dog. Make a small capped hat on top of each dog. Place in oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool for five minutes. Use a toothpick dipped in mustard and paint two eyes on each “mummy.” Add a side of organic ketchup for “blood.”
I <3 that your whole family blogs, I may just be obsessed with all three of you! Great ideas for Halloween, I wish Bangkok had Halloween 🙁 I can not wait to see your costume! Lots of Love C
