My Can’t Live Without It Skincare Faves

skincare faves | by the skinny confidential

I can’t even begin to tell you how important it is to take care of your skin.

I’m kind of a psycho about my skincare routines. There are certain items I can’t live without, but first here are a few points on skincare that I NEED to get off my chest.

ONE: USE ALL NATURAL PRODUCTS. Just do it. You’ll be glad you avoided putting your skin through all that trauma in 30 years, I promise.

TWO: USE OILS, and A LOT of them. I use oils for everything: cleansing, makeup remover, moisturizer, you name it. Here are my favorites: jojoba, avocado, coconut, & grape seed.

THREE: WEAR SUNSCREEN. Seriously…but you know that, right.

FOUR: SWITCH IT UP. Just like your body, your skin needs a wide variety of nutrients, antioxidants, & treatments in order to get maximum benefits & maintain a youthful glow. Here are a few products to work into your versatile skincare routines that I absolutely can’t live without:

Juice Beauty Brightening Gel Cleanser:

This cleanser is rich in antioxidants from organic lemon, apple and sugar cane hydroxy-acids and purifying botanicals. Plant-based cleansers exfoliate and deeply cleanse. Excellent for sun-damaged and aging skin for optimum brightening results.

Tula Illuminating Face Serum:

This serum is enriched with probiotics to help your skin stay hydrated & maintain it’s youthful glow. It’s ideal for anyone looking to even their skin tone because it contains a patented blend of citrus extracts & pearlescent pigments to boost dull looking skin, protect against free radicals, and YES, even skin tone.

Fig + Yarrow Clay Mask:

Clay has been used for centuries to call out toxins & impurities. Fig + Yarrow black clay mask contains activated charcoal and palmarosa essence penetrates deeply to assist in the removal of skin-aging chemicals and toxins while sweeping away dull surface cells.

Boscia Konjac Sponge:

If you haven’t tried one of these pH balanced, 100% preservative free sponges, pick one up NOW. This little sponge is enriched with protein, carbohydrate, iron, phosphorus, copper, zinc, vitamins A, E, D, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, and folic acid. Expect a deep clean that is delicate enough for even the most sensitive skin.

Glossier Soothing Face Mist:

This face mist is made with roses & aloe to hydrate, soothe, AND leave you feeling fresh & awake. It’s great for prepping your skin for the moisturizer. It’s also excellent as a makeup refresher and midday pick-me-up.

Yu Ling Jade Roller:

This face, neck, & chest roller is a cleansing stone used in Chinese medicine for centuries to aid the body’s filtration organs and lymph system to expel toxins. EVERYONE should own a face roller.

What are your ride or die skincare tips? Would love to know!

Also share your favorite skincare products below. As I mentioned, I’m always looking to switch it up so any tips are definitely appreciated!

  1. Lauryn, like you my skin suffers from hyper-pigmentation (I would rather get pimples than looking like I have a mustache ugh). What have you found most helpful and the biggest game changer when dealing with this? Thank you thank you! Xo

  2. Hi Lauryn,

Thank you for this post! Could you a more detailed post or video with how you use the roller? Would love to see so I can know if I’m doing it right.

  3. Yessss so happy about this! Have been dying for a skin care update post, your skin has been looking amazing on snap!! thanks for the tips :* Do you have a good sunscreen that you’d recommend?

  4. Buying a face roller asap! I have the WORST uneven skintone, aka sunstache, so this post is my new skincare bible. Thanks for the tips!

  5. I am soooooo interested in the Tula serum! When I read your description about it I immediately went over to the website to learn more! I also am super interested in the roller too! Could you maybe do a video on your youtube channel on how to use that roller and also the ice roller you show on snapchat all the time? xoxo

  6. Hi Lauryn!

LOVE your blog and all your posts about health and skincare! And I was hoping you could help a girl out! I’m genetically prone to dark circles and under eye bags (and I know I’m not alone out there). There’s a million different natural remedies out there online but would love to know which one is the ONE to finally get rid of them!

    Love all that you do!

  7. I swear by Konjac sponges! You can also bury them in your garden when your done with it (they’ll eventually break down since they’re natural), and it will decompose!

Question- where do you find Glossier products in person? Online searches didn’t come up with any department stores, etc.

  8. Love the tip about using natural products! I just cleared out my skin care/make-up collection and purged all of my toxic products. My skin seems to be loving the change and I wish I would have made the switch sooner!

    XO – Sarah

  9. Great picks! Boscia charcoal products have amazing results. I’m usually skeptical of facial products actually doing what they say they’re supposed to and Boscia actually does! You should also try Mario Badescu’s overnight zit zapping solution – it’s amazing. I actually just posted about this on my blog!

  10. So interesting that you said oils because I used them on my face when I was sunburned, (I know, how could I? I blame camping and margaritas) and not only did my sunburn not peel but I SWEAR it cleared up my zits too!!

  11. Hi, always love your skincare tips.
I was wondering about your thoughts on led light therapy. Those led masks are all over the place and would like to buy one to try.
Would like to know your opinion as they are an investment because of the price!
    Thanks Lauryn.
    Love from Spain.

  12. I’ve had the ice roller in my Amazon cart for a week while I think of other things I need and now I’m wondering about the jade roller. If you had to pick one…? I would also love a “roller” video.
Also, the konjac sponge is my new addiction — love it even more than my Clarisonic.
And by the way, I’ve been using the L’Occitane natural deodorant for a few days and am so far loving it!
    Thanks for the post, Lauren!

  13. I’ve used coconut and jojoba oil on my face and neck for a while now but just added avocado oil to the mix! 100% agree – natural products are the move.

  14. Oooo love this post!! I’ve been wanting to try a clay mask and I’m def going to order that one (and maybe a few others of these eek!) Love me some skin care products!

  15. my tip would be… listen to your skin.
I have an ivory/porcelain complexion and enjoyed a clear complexion until about 6 months ago when my marriage ended. I’ve read since that sometime cortisol production (stress hormone) can trigger a bout of adult acne, I just wasn’t expecting mine to last this long. Products that I’ve used without issue for years have suddenly become no-go danger zones for me that can trigger another breakout. It’s trying to tell me something – and my breakouts are less severe when I listen. My new rule of thumb is, listen to my skin like I listen to the rest of my body. Does my skin feel thirsty? I probably need to up my moisturizing. Do I feel like a walking breakout when I’m wearing makeup? Maybe my products need to change. Self-awareness and being in tune with my body has really helped.

  16. I love boscia products!!! I have sensitive skin and it’s the only line I have been using for the past year. No more redness or pealing skin. Make up break up a must!! And that sake treatment water and balm are my go to musts!!!

  17. Lauryn,

Absolutely love your blog! I am huge fan, and, like you, suffer from hyper-pigmentation on my face (UGH). What products have you seen produce the best results? I love all of your advice, and would be really interested in hearing what you recommend for this topic!

    Thanks so much!

  18. I love this post! I just ordered the Tula serum because I also believe it’s important to switch up your routine to get the best results. Some of my favorite skincare products are IMAGE Skincare Vital C moisturizer and eye recovery gel + SkinMedica Retinol and Lytera Skin Brightening Complex (I have to get these through my dermatologist).

I love your blog and podcast! Thank you for your inspiration!

  19. Lauren do you use the ice roller, the jade roller and your Clarisonic massager everyday together? Do you need to use all? I’m trying to work out a new skin routine! Not sure which one you use the serum and moisturizer with then. Thanks!

  20. The problem with our aging skin is it begins to lose its natural ability to produce collagen, which is what allows our skin to remain smooth and wrinkle-free. Laser treatments work to restore our skin’s ability to heal itself and fill in these fine lines through natural processes.
