SAY NO TO A CAMEL TOE!

Lauryn Evarts, fitness blogger, health blogger, and diet blogger talks skinny tips and tricks for weight loss.

Apparently camel toes are a serious epidemic.

I mean, really if we’re all being honest many of us have been guilty of camels or maybe even some of you shield your poor eyes (daily) because of their constant presence.

But seriously, when it comes to the CT…just.don’t.

Like, for women who are repeat offenders: is it absolutely necessary to pull your tight, latex workout pants over your belly button like a modern day Steve Urkel?

Probs not.

If you’re wondering WTH a camel toe looks like (don’t Google it because an actual camel’s toe will most like show up) then Urban Dictionary gives a pretty intense visual: “when a woman’s pants are so tight, that the actually fabric comes into their beaver, creating the two-mounded image of a camel’s toe.”

If you don’t know what a beaver is then…um…I guess ask your bestie?

Anyway, after extensive research I’ve found this post on ‘The Lazy Girl’s Guide on How to Prevent a Camel Toe.’ Here are some tip-a-tee-tips:

1.} Invest in a fanny pack.

2.} Pull your pants down a bit so they’re underneath your belly button.

3.} Buy pants in the right size.

4.} Invest in a lap cat. And carry it. Everywhere.

In general though? CAMEL-NO!

FYI: my girlfriends have begged me to do this post for months- so blame those vulgar, sick-os ; )!

  1. Hahaha! Lauryn, you are out of control!! But in a good way. This is hilarious. Ladies, don’t “cleave the beave”. No, just don’t!

  2. Hahahah I laughed outloud… since I grew up playing volleyball this was a SERIOUS concern that was brought up often, its just NOT ok. haha

  3. Love it! But am now completely freaking out as I think I have been merrily waltzing into my gym and doing a workout with my hot trainer with a camel toe these past few weeks. Groan. Am getting a Smoothgroove freakin tomoz!!

  4. Seriously! I do not need to see it! I love the list you have to not have it! Buy the right pants, and don’t pull them up… I had a workout class where I should have posted this up!

  5. I literally LOL’ed! Another way to hide your camel toe is to bring back 90’s fashion! It’s time to tie a sweater around your waist and let the sleeves fall in place.

  6. Love that you have the guts to say it and educate ladies on this unfortunate topic. Hilarious but true!!! XXooooo Boi:)

  7. I want to look at these ladies and be like, how do you not notice this? Why did you leave the house? and who are your friends? because they def DON’T have yo back sista!!

  8. The things that make me laugh! And I guess I needed one tonight because I have clicked on the links posted and gotten a good side splitting laugh! 1. Because it is a nasty thing, but happens to all of us at least once in our lives. 2. That your friends bugged you til you blogged about it (to help those out in need). 3. It’s all in good fun and for good knowledge! I am still cracking up at smooth groove. . . going to send that to a friend so she can laugh with me. I love to share the laughter!!

  9. Lauryn,
We have found the solution to the camel toe epidemic is exactly the opposite of the big brands out there. They all espouse “a gusset” as the end all of women’s performance apparel. The reality is, the gusset is what is causing the CT’s in my opinion. We have found that by leaving the gusset out, there not only aren’t any CT’s but there’s no discomfort associated with the seam. Also waistband design affects the fit and if the waistband rides on the high hip area, you don’t have to keep pulling up your pants. They stay put. If you’d like to see, check out this and zero in on you know what! http://www.turnitonfitness.com/Bottoms/Striker-Pants/

  10. I have been buying my compression wear leggings from these guys and they seem pretty resilient against our foe the camels toe.

I found them on instagram, tried a pair then have been back for a few pairs since. Most leggings seem to be under a ten pounds too so thats a bonus.

http://www.compressionwear.com they had free shipping last time i ordered, dont know if they still do.

  11. Oh No, the dreaded Camel Toe! Girls, there is a solution: Don’t buy workout wear that incorporates a gusset. The gusset is the problem. Even though certain big brands espouse the gusset, it’s unnecessary and is nothing but a marketing ploy. A serge seam in the rise is so much more fashionable and prevents the camel toe. Some may say: but that seam is uncomfortable. I say: No it isn’t if you wear a pair of thong underwear which acts as a gusset and prevents chafe. That flatlock seam that is so common in the crotch of big brands does nothing but scream: Look at my crotch! Read this and see why there is such a homogenization of fitness wear with everything looking alike. I think you’ll see there are alternatives and the ability to get rid of the “toes”. http://www.turnitonfitness.com/blog/the-homogenization-of-fitness-wear/

  12. As a Roller Derby girl, camel toe is a real issue!!! Super tights shorts, tights, etc. Sometimes you get a little toe happenin.
