It’s TSC Book Club time. You know I love a book club. I try to share the Book Club posts with you guys as soon as I have a few to share so you can get your hands on them ASAP ( here, here, here, & here ). Michael also loves to share his book recommendations & he has some real good ones so be sure to check them out– especially if you’re into business & mindset.
I’m a huge bookworm & I know a lot of you guys are too. I try to read for 30 minutes a day at least. I love to finish my day with some reading in bed before I go to sleep.
There’s nothing better than kicking back with a book. You know I LOVE long flights because it’s a time to disconnect, sip some champagne, & read a book without any distractions. Not going to lie, I kind of like when the wifi is spotty- gives me an excuse to read.
Over the holidays we were in Europe so here’s a list of the latest books I read that I know you’ll too:
Both of Us: My Life with Farrah by Ryan O’Neil
I randomly found this book in the autobiography section & it’s all about Farrah Fawcett & Ryan O’Neil’s relationship. The way he speaks about her is just really passionate, open & real. You fall in love with Farrah Fawcett all over again, which led me to read the next book.
My Journey with Farrah: A Story of Life, Love, and Friendship by Alana Stewart
I became interested in Farrah Fawcett & the way she lived so eloquently while also sharing her experience with the world. This book is by Rod Stewart’s ex-wife, Alana Stewart ( also mom to Kim Stewart- remember from the Paris Hilton days? ). She’s a mother & writes about her journey while taking care of Farrah while she was battling cancer. It’s really raw, open & real.
Energize by Claire Grieve
I recently went to Gstaad & was introduced to Claire Grieve through Neda of Healthy with Nedi. Claire has a really cool outlook on health & fitness so I had to get her ebook. She’s a Yogi, stretch therapist, wellness writer & health coach. This book has yoga flows, recipes & a foreword by Rosie Huntington-Whitely!
Grace Notes: My Recollections by Katey Sagal
I’m in love with Katey Sagal from Sons of Anarchy & Married with Children. She is such a badass, boss bitch & this book did not disappoint. I read it in one flight. She is so open with her whole life story & why she is the way she is. I would recommend this book to ALL my friends. She writes about everything from addiction, sobriety, sex, to having children, to her destructive parents & her mother’s suicide.
Brutally Honest by Melanie Brown
This is by Mel B. from The Spice Girls & it’s a very dark book. It’s about a very abusive husband & she opens up about everything from threesomes with her husband, to cocaine & abuse. She’s very open about her life with Eddie Murphy who she has a child with too. I liked this book, but I don’t know if I’d recommend it to everyone- if you’re looking for a light read then this book isn’t for you.
Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin by Kathy Griffin
I recently read both of Kath Griffin’s books & found them to be light & funny, & kind of a celebrity tell-all where she opens up about about everyone from Kim Kardashian to Steve Martin to Donald Trump. She’s light, fresh, funny & relatable- she talks about her liposuction & it was just a kickass read. Her other book Celebrity Run-Ins is a real hoot too.
I’m off to read my latest book which is Live Fast, Die Hot by Jenny Mullen.
What are you guys reading right now?

SCOPE THE TRAVEL READS
You and Michael both HAVE to read Bad Blood by John Carreyou!!!!!!!!! Such a crazy story following a sexy silcon valley startup & it’s fall down the rabbit hole. I read it in a week.
silicon** valley
this is an awesome collection of books to digest. I think i need to choose the Energize. I’m always tired and rest all the time after grueling work everyday. For sure it will motivate and inspire me on the right direction. I only do Yoga once a week and probably need to do it more often
Nice post Lauryn! I’ve just recently enrolled myself in a public library and I shall try and read the books you have suggested here! Thank you!
love that!! hope you like them <3
