It’s rare for my day to begin without bee pollen & flaxseed. I sprinkle it in smoothies, cereal, & oatmeal all the time. This morning my breakfast consisted of a few scoops of Ezekiel cereal, pumpkin spice, rice milk, Truvia, blueberries, refrigerated bee pollen, & flaxseed. Even though there are plenty of healthy breakfast options, they aren’t always time efficient. Cold cereal is convenient for when I am running late low on time & famished.
* Quick skinny tip: These Antropologie tiny bowls are amazing when it comes to portion control. There’s no need to pour your AM cereal into a horse trough; plan ahead, buy smaller dishes.
Flaxseed Benefits:
+ High in B Vitamins.
+ Eliminates bloat.
+ Promotes proper function of the intestines [ ew!, but necessary ].
+ Note: it’s better for the flaxseeds to be ground for nutrients, however regular flaxseed taste better – I use both.
Bee Pollen Benefits:
+ Contains vitamins, minerals, & proteins.
+ All of the essential amino acids are present in bee pollen [ <<<< so important ].
+ Increases energy & builds the immune system.
+ Note: the refrigerated brands are best.
Um…amazing, much?!
I bought whole flax seed on accident. If I ground that, will I still get the nutrients from it?
Yes, you’re all good. They both will work. The nutrients are just more available in the in ground kind.
I <3 bee pollen! I I usually put chia seeds on my cereal 🙂
Yum! I’ll have to try that Erica!
I found your site via Healthy Bitch and I love it!! I am so excited to read about all your health tips and food recipes. Yay!! And Bee pollen…. never knew it’s benefits!
Thanks Meg- you’re so sweet. Happy reading : ) xox
Love learning the benefits of both products and excited to start using! Question: Do you know if both are safe for children as well? Would love to give them bee pollen to help w/immune system naturally 🙂
Thanks Stacy! I believe they are safe for children too!
You do not need to buy flax seed ground up already. Your teeth do the work when you chew 🙂 I’m going to add bee pollen for sure now! Thanks!
Agreed ; ) Thanks for reading Jamie!
where do you buy your bee pollen?? that has always been a favorite of mine when I have it in smoothies, but I’ve never seen it in the stores.
Thanks!!
I buy it at local health food stores. I love the kind that is refrigerated (most kinds should be kept in cool areas). : ))) xo
Is there any interesting product you could recommend? Thanks
Can you mix flaxseed, bee pollen, and chia seeds together in smoothies and shakes?
