Just Some Badass Up & Coming Artists

laurynportrait (900x900)

by: YEGA ( YAY-GAH ) | work here

Tonight it’s all about you guys !! And YOUR creativity.

I’ve been wanting to do something like this on The Skinny Confidential for a long-ass time. Basically the gist of my idea ( it came to me in the shower, HA! ) is to showcase what you guys love to create. Some of you are artists, some are bloggers/vloggers, some are graphic designers, some are entrepreneurs, ETC. & I want to share your work with TSC Community. This is a place to inspire.

Anyway, today’s the first installment of this “creative spaces” idea. Today’s theme is up & coming artists— each of them designed a very Skinny Confidential-ish piece. & honestly WOWZA, I can’t believe how amazing these phenomenally talented artists are, I was just shocked! They killed it. A bunch of these pieces are going in my office. All their bios/contact info is below.

Oh! If you are a creative, please share what you do so I can plan the next creative feature on TSC. Want to hear about what you guys do, what drives you, your passions…you get it. Leave your websites, Instagrams, whatever below too. You guys always support me, I would love to help in any way to support you =).

Ok, enjoy! First up, the bubblegum pic above:

Her clothing is a fusion between two contradicting qualities, marrying chaotic design elements with simplistic silhouettes. 1. This is an awesome idea to showcase some really great artists. Thank you for doing this! I build furniture – my company is called Sun Devil Woodwork. We just recently got the website and blog live, which I have you to thank for just getting it up even though it’s not perfect. I have a lot of really great ideas for it, but I’m taking it slow and trying to learn as much as I can from others, such as yourself, as I constantly work on it. At the moment I’m focusing on a consistent once a week post, until I have more material and I can post more frequently than that.

  2. This is a really cool post. I’m looking forward to more about upcoming artists.

  3. OMG yes, Lauryn, this post makes my heart so happy. Susan Zienty is a friend of mine (we actually met in Brandy Melville which is def comfort and simplicity based) and her work is just phenomenal. Seriously incredible & she has such an incredible eye for fashion & style and it shows in her illustration. Thank you so much for showing your support! It is amazing how talented everyone is and I am all about supporting up and coming talent! I am loving the Yega’s bubble gum picture and Jason Naylor’s work… in fact, I just love them all (did I read something about wine & watercolour? yes please!). Thank you so much again for sharing! x Shannon

  4. this may be one of my favorite posts ever.

I love love seeing street art, and artists doing their thing. It’s crazy because I can’t relate or know what the feeling of having a complete vision and creating it with your hands on paper!

I love all of these – this was such a great read and such a great share!

    xoxo

  6. I love this feature!! All the artists you showcased are so talented!

I’m in the process of creating some new products and would love to share them with you when they’re available 🙂 In the meantime, I’ve been working on my photography for Instagram (@laurenliveshealthy) and blog (laurenliveshealthy.com) and figuring out how to create my own style and merge my DSLR photos with on-the-go iPhone shots. It’s interesting and fun – and harder than people think!

  7. This is the BEST, most wonderful, thoughtful, smart INSANELY RAD post I’ve ever read! Such a beautiful idea. PLEASE do more like this!!! xxx

  8. Love this post Lauryn! I was just thinking to myself today that it’s a shame so many people in my life just haven’t had time to get “into” art. All it takes is a little understanding of the principles of design to enjoy the amazing creations all around us! Posts like this are great for getting the word out there 🙂

    1. Art is so fun and can be anything you want! Absolutely love getting to share all these artists with everyone. Thanks Jill! xx

  9. Amazing that you did this!!! So few bloggers pay attention to art & I love discovering new (and affordable!!!) talent. Will definitely be looking into works from all of the above xx

  10. All of this work is so beautiful…and UNIQUE. Really cool that you are sharing these. I am also so jealous that you have so many beautiful and personally designed things for your life. More posts like this please 🙂

  11. Hey love! I am loving this idea! I, myself, love featuring other artists on my blog as well, and I would love to interview you if I ever got the chance! I know you mentioned that you could take a look at what we do and make it part of these posts, and would love to be featured as well! My name is Jenifer and I am from New Mexico, although, I might be moving pretty soon to Austin, TX. I am a blogger and a student at the college in my town named NMSU. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Journalism, and want to open up a tea shop within these next couple of years where I can also practice life-coaching. Let me know if you need anymore details, and I would love to answer any questions you might have. (Also, where did you get equipment to start podcasting, and what equipment would you recommend?) Thank you so much! Love ya! -xox Jeni

    1. Wow I love your story and your goals Jeni!! Send an email to support@theskinnyconfidential with your info so I can be in touch with future opportunities! We used the H6 Zoom with Rode Link lavalier : ) xx

  12. WOW! How cool to see all this artwork! I loved seeing them all, and what a rad honor to be a part of such a group of talent! Thanks Lauryn for including me 🙂 I posted a video of the making of on my insta… check it out here —> http://bit.ly/29GCog7 Its always fun to be part of a group show! Congrats to all of the artists on their success, and everyone keep up the good work!

  13. Oh come on now Lauryn! Why do you have to do this to me? Here I am UNFOLLOWING a ton of people as I”m overwhelmed by the digital space and now you’re giving me all these NEW people to follow. These individuals are INCREDIBLE and I will definitely be supporting their work. Love love love!

I love seeing people grow into themselves creatively. I started a YouTube channel back in 2008 and it was a way for me to share things with the world while I was 3,000+ miles from my family, married to a man in the military. Just this past year I realized that I have a MAGNIFICENT vision for both my YouTube channel and Blog so I am diving ALL IN to creating higher quality content that I am passionate about and proud of! I think this realization came after following so many incredible, artistic individuals who inspire me with their work every day!
