Ya ya ya, we all know about everyone’s favorite apps…the Postmates app, the Uber app, the Podcast app, we get all that. But what about specific apps & why.
Today I’m discussing 5 very specific apps that I use on a daily basis & we’re going to go over why you need to download each one.
Let’s preface this by saying that these are ones that have worked for me for years, ones I keep going back to & that I kinda can’t live without. The ones that you’ll find in my most searched history & the ones that I use when it comes to tightening up, editing my Instagram & counting my steps.
With that, let’s get right down to it:
Facetune ( & Kirakira )
Ok, ok, Facetune…we’ve all used it. It’s awesome if you want to smooth out a pimple or brighten the whites of your eyes, but have we talked about using Facetune as a background whitener? Well, it’s a big time secret & everyone does it. A whiter & brighter background can really make the main focus of your image pop. Sometimes a filter can leave a slight tint on the walls so it’s really helpful for getting rid of it.
You guys always ask me how I add pretty sparkles to my Stories & the answer is Kirakira. It picks up the light on pics & videos & makes everything sparkle in the most pretty, magical, Cinderella-esque way. If you don’t have this app, you need it. It’s very much fun to whiten the background of the photo then add a super pretty sparkle to it.
Headspace
The only reason I look at my phone in the morning is to open Headspace. I start every single morning with Headspace then some light, movement & hydration before I check social media, emails, text or anything really. Personally, I like the anxiety pack- I always go back to it. It really helps me be a calmer person with less anxiety. I highly recommend this app to anyone who is trying to become more centered.
My Fitness Pal
This is something I use to stay accountable. I don’t use it all the time, but when I feel like I’ve been traveling a lot or have too much going on in my life, having that accountability & being able to see what I’ve eaten each day keeps me in check. Calorie counting isn’t something I do with this app. I use it to see how much fiber & net carbs I’ve eaten. Basically, this app helps you track vitamins, minerals, macros, calories consumed, & calories burned. There’s a huge database of food to look up. As I said, it’s really helpful to get back on track.
Pacer
This app goes hand in hand with My Fitness Pal because it keeps you accountable. I aim for 10,000 steps a day & it really adds up if you take the opportunity to walk whenever you can. I walk instead of drive to dinner, walk while I take conference calls, walk to get coffee every morning, walk on the treadmill while I answer emails…you get it. It’s all about moving more without necessarily ‘exercising.’ It’s become this game I play with myself to see how many steps I can get in. You can read more about why I love counting steps here.
Planoly
As you guys know, I used to use Snugg & it was great, but it started to become really slow. Planoly is quicker & keeps me, again, accountable. Having a posting plan & schedule for Instagrams makes content creation so much easier.
So those are my top 5 apps- the ones I keep going back to. I’d love to know what’s missing from list. You guys always have the best recommendations. Get specific, k?
I’m off to add some sparkle to my latest Instagram.

Don’t you love it!!
Headspace sounds like something I really need to try. I really want to try meditation for stress relief and calm.

It makes SUCH a big difference!
I absolutely love head space. It makes it so easy to meditate. I have tried out other meditation apps, but I just keep going back to that one. Love it! Great post.

Same! It’s my tried and true 🙂
You should try using a Korean filter app called Snow – there’s tons of cool filters and the default mode is plain but you look 100x better (brighter eyes, sharper face, smoothed out skin etc etc)
