Hi guys,
Wanted to pop in & let you know that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going strong. As much as I share new items, I also want to share ones that are tried & true that I’ve test out over the years. These are specific ride or dies that are on sale & you need to get your hands on them. Whether it’s a gift for yourself or someone else, these 3 things are just too good. Of course you can always just forward this post to your significant other & go the manipulation route.
4 THINGS YOU NEED FROM THE NORDSTROM SALE
Coconut oil is great for pretty much everything right? From cooking to beauty to sex, it always works. Kopari is amazing because they’ve figured out how to create the best experience with coconut oil. It’s chic and easy to take with you anywhere. My obsession is the coconut rose toner. It tightens & balances your skin. This Kopari set is perfect for the girl on the go because each item is travel sized. Walk off your next flight with dewy, hydrated skin. Yes plz.
Also, if you’ve never used any of Kopari’s stuff before, this set is the way to go. You can try their standout products before you commit to the full size.
Kate Somerville’s products are expertly crafted to give you results. We got the entire scoop on TSC HIM & HER podcast 109. If you’re looking for some major hydration check out dermal quench. It plumps the skin & reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Another must have from Kate that’s also on sale is Exfolikate. Using scrubbing exfoliants & fruit enzymes, this product will brighten and renew your skin. You can see exactly how I use it in my AM skincare routine video.
Exfoliate by Kate Somerville is perfect because it gets rid of dead skin cells & cleans pores without overdrying.
BLENDING. I’ve tried brushes, my finger, compact blenders but nothing is as GOOD as a beautyblender.
To be completely transparent, I’ve tried to cut corners & use fake beauty blenders from Forever21 ( they’re cheap & don’t work well— they’re super hard too. Weird. ). And nothing is as good as the real deal beautyblender.
I use it to apply sunscreen— because no one wants white flakes hanging off their face like Kris Kringle. I use it to apply my makeup. I use it to blend powder. I use it to contour ( << note: for contouring I also like to use makeup brushes, more here ).
The difference between a beautyblender & everything else in the world? Well, there are a few things. the bb…
+ creates a dewy, Jessica Alba look.
+ does some crazy voo-doo shit where it sort of ( chemically?? ) blends the makeup together making your face look like skin instead of alligator scales.
+ doesn’t give you that orange line where your face looks different than your neck.
+ is the best travel companion because it’s small AND HIGHLY efficient.
+ can take ABUSE. This is creepy & weird: the more I use mine without washing it, the better my BB works because it absorbs the oils of the skin.
& before you think I’m nasty, remember J.Lo’s makeup artist famously said that “mixing oils of the skin together creates a way better finish.” I feel like the beautyblender does just that: mix the oils of the skin together for the ideal finish.
I was online trying to figure out why the hell I like it so much ( it’s kind of indescribable ) & I found the perfect word for it: it’s BOUNCY. It bounces off your skin in the perfect way.
This is a steal because you get 2 beautyblender sponges & a case too. With this case you can just throw your beautyblender in your bag right after you use it. It won’t get anything else ‘damp’ because it’s covered but the little holes let it breath.
Let’s get real for a second…sleep lines turn into deep, ole wrinkles. So nip that shit in the bud before it becomes a prob. If you know me you know I’m all about preventative measures.
And if sleeping on a damn silk pillowcase prevents wrinkles all over my face then why the hell wouldn’t I sleep on silk? Prevention, peeps!
According to this article by Taylor Time, “while you sleep at night, your skin is getting nourished by this beautiful silk. First the feeling of sleeping on silk is so luxurious and elegant but it’s also good for you. Most plastic surgeons and dermatologists can tell you when you go and visit them, they can see which side of your face you sleep on by the sleep lines on your face. Those sleep lines turn into permanent wrinkles. Because silky fabric is so soft and silky, your face glides. It’s not causing friction and causing sleep lines. Silk’s naturally hypoallergenic, because of the tight weave between the silk fibers, it doesn’t allow dust mites and other nasty things to get in there. It’s actually been tested and proven that silk is naturally hypoallergenic. And when it comes to cotton, it creates friction, which is why when you sleep on cotton you can wake up with sleep lines. If you’re putting those really expensive skin care products on your skin at night, where do you think that product is going? That product is actually getting absorbed into your cotton pillowcase.”
It’s also a huge plus because silk helps with my allergies, rat’s nest hair, & contains amino acids that nourish my skin. Ultimately, aging gracefully is something we’re all striving for- so buy a damn silk pillowcase & thank me later.
Sales are very much the theme this month so definitely checkout this post where I share other top picks from the Nordstrom early access sale.
