I am not a fan of spending a ton of money on fashion. I feel like there’s a ton of ways to get around spending half your paycheck on clothes ( hello Forever21! ). I mean, let’s face it: some fashion bloggers showcase some expensive-ass items. Like, no I don’t have 2k to drop on linen pants. TSC is about balance & spending a fortune on clothing isn’t exactly balanced.
That being said, sometimes beautiful, quality pieces AKA staples are a total neccesity. Certain items to splurge on: a plain white vest, an amazing bag, or a pair of timeless white pumps. And when I found the site THE DRESLYN, I died.
I died because OMG, it’s so damn cute, but I also died because discovering a one stop, quality online shop for staples is rare.
Anyway, these are the clothing investments I’ve made in the last year:
One.) Striped Linen Shirt: my favorite!! I wear this over bikinis for summer. It’s so cute with black skinnies & white oxfords.
Two.) Crispy White Dress: this dress is timeless & basically looks cute for a night out with pumps or a day at the beach with flip flops.
Three.) Black Silk Pants: everyone should own an amazing pair of pants. I wore these for a night out with the girls with a black silk top & black lips.
Four.) White Pumps: if you know anything about me, you know I’m obsessed with white shoes. ESP these pumps:
Five.) Black Sling Bag: I believe every babe should own one rad, black bag. This one is my latest fav.
Six.) Black Leggings: leggings really suck it all in, so these are perfect when you’re feeling bloated. I wear these when Aunt Flow’s in town.
Seven.) A Staple White Tee: my closet is 75% white tees. This is my latest fav.
Eight.) White Vest: vests make every outfit better. I love a long one that’s sort of fitted. Rag & Bone is just the best brand…ever!
Nine.) A Pair of Black Flats: these are perfect for day to day & they’re super comfortable.
P.S. this bag I got for my birthday is my new boyfriend & such an insane, forever staple:
