Don’t Go Stuffing Your Face with Shit After the Juice Cleanse Ends!

Lauryn Evarts, fitness blogger, fashion blogger, and health blogger talks skinny tips and tricks for weight loss by using a juice cleanse.

Almost done with Suja’s three day cleanse.

I’m bouncing off the walls with energy, feeling healthy, & definitely wayyyy less bloated.

Success.

Just because I’m off the cleanse tomorrow doesn’t mean I’ll be stuffing my face with crap. Hello portion control, clean eating, & water x a mill. I want this Suja buzz to last, peeps.

Naturally I asked Annie all her top secret post-cleanse tips:

+ Don’t go hog wild. I mean, you just detoxed your system. Eating until you feel like you’re going to puke is sick. Give your system a break. So: do not, I repeat, do not eat whatever the hell you want. K thx.

+ If you do decide to shovel food into your mouth the day after a cleanse, then. be. prepared to. feel. horrible. Your digestive system is a like giant that’s been sleeping…& he doesn’t want to be violently shaken awake. Leave the giant alone. Let the big guy wake up slowly ; ).

+ Breakfast: fruit. Tons of it. Alone, on an empty stomach.

+ Lunch/dinner: eat beans, avocado, chickpeas, sweet pototo, hummus, veggies, gluten-free grains, brown rice, wild rice, quinoa, millet,  nuts, seeds, broths, veggie soups, pumpkin seeds, coconut milk, fruit, smoothies, etc.

+ Drink as much h20 as possible. Bottoms up!

+ Just because you’re off cleanse doesn’t mean you shouldn’t juice. Juice it up, sex kittens! I’ll def be drinking some green juice toms.

Ta-da.

Oh, & if you’re curious I will be celebrating with a glass ( or two ) of champagne tomorrow.

So sue me.

Ok, well I’m off to chug more juice & not going to lie, I’m excited! For reals. Maybe a lil too excited.

Day 2!!!

Annnnddddd baaaa! I’m buzzed off Suja.

This is the easiest detox ever. I had one measly hunger pain so I ate an avocado with cayenne powder ( thx for tip, Weslie ) & a bunch of lemon. Now? I feel like a million bucks x 10.

Let’s talk exercising on a juice cleanse:

Annie ( << the cleansing guru ) said light exercise is fine. She’s done yoga for the past two days + some light walking- & it’s working really well for her.

Weslie & Sam have ran + weight lifting.

Casey has been playing soccer & that’s working for her schedule/her body.

Cody has done a little skateboarding + some ab work.

Do what floats your boat. Obviously, you know your sexy bod better than anyone.

In my opinion? Hot yoga ( while detoxing ) doesn’t work for me. I faint ( literally, faint ) at the sight of a needle. Also hot temps get me. Hot temperatures + a juice cleanse = me fainting. So far, I’ve done some traditional Pilates & strengthen training on the detox…I’m feeling fantastic.

Again: do what works for YOU. Not your dad, not your boyfriend, not me, not your dog, not your creepy, weird neighbor…you.

So on that note, I’ll leave ya all with a lil tippy-a-de-tip: have a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar each morning while you’re cleansing. Why? Because it stimulates the GI tract + it’s alkalizing after a night of sleep.

The giveaway winner, Kimberly is loving the cleanse too- check out her Suja experience here.

I la, la, love hearing about your cleanse experience; feel free to share below. MWAH!

Shed That Winter Coat!

[ Detoxing on the go…ten things in my hand, per usu ]

How’s it cleansin’? I hope you’re all excited to shed the winter coat…

I certainly am.

First day recap:

Annie ( the owner of Suja Juice ), Samantha & Casey ( Suja’s PR team ), Weslie ( blogger @ Love Chugs ), Cody ( co-founder of People Water ) & I started a lil group text to document our 3-day detox experience. Between LMFAO at all the absurd text messages ( << when I didn’t check my phone there were 52 from this wild/hilarious group {!!} ) & an unhealthy overuse of Emojis, Annie ended up sharing some real swell information with us weirdos…

& I learned:

Ahem!

+ It’s not weird to NOT be hungry. Why? That happens to most people because you’re really hydrated & getting the nutrients it needs. Hydration is key.

+ The first juice ( ‘Glow’ ) is great for your tummers in the AM. The mint in the green drink soothes the stomach.

+ Drink the last juice three hours before bed.

+ No nuts. The little suckers don’t digest well.

+ If you’re hungry…then EAT! Fruits, greens, sweet potatoes, avocados, Dijon + apple cider vinegar ( for dressing ), broths, & soups. Stay away from animal proteins ( < in the DIY cleanse animal products are ok ). Nix dairy & grains too. Tons of green tea is encouraged.  Juicing is alkalizing. Don’t let certain foods screw that up.

Capisce?

Ok. Spill- if you’re cleansing too, what’s your experience been like so far? Tell, tell.

I hope you’re not late to the party. And if you promised yourself to detox for the NY, don’t be a Flaky McFlakerson & back out. Follow through with what you said you were going to do.

Pesto Spaghetti Squash

Lauryn Evarts, fitness and weight loss blogger from San Diego with skinny tips and tricks.

Let’s face it, bigger veggies [ think eggplant, squash, radishes, etc. ] can be rather intimidating, especially to cook with. My girlfriend, Casey, requested that I post an easy recipe with a large, discouraging vegetable. Thanks to my step-mom I absolutely adore spaghetti squash.

Entirely nervous to undergo this recipe on my own, would be an understatement. Useful discovery? It was ridiculously easy. I promise you’ll be surprised how effortlessly the squash falls out, forming itself in to perfect shape of “spaghetti.” Best part: 12 carbs & 5 grams of protein per serving. Honestly, I could eat this every night.
