These aren’t like, ice cubes to casually throw in your passion fruit tea though.

These are special, magical ice cubes that will make your hectic, crazed life easier.

Anyway. Back to these weird-ass ice cubes.

Here’s a lil back story: I have this seriously bizarre obsession with spaghetti squash. I eat it allllll the time. My friends will call me on a Monday night & they’re all, “what up?” And per usual I’ll reply “just cooking spaghetti squash, e-mailing, & watching Real Housewives.”

Cooking spaghetti squash is my thing. I add a bunch of arugula underneath it ( fills ya up, big time! ), pile on the squash, & add a little Rao’s super spicy arrabbiata sauce with lemon, chili flake, a sprinkle of fresh parm, & some fresh basil..superrrrr satisfying.

Ok, wait, I’m off topic ( WTF’s new though? ).

So the problem?

Whelp, the herbs, der.

Think about it: if I’m cooking spaghetti squash three to four times a week like an OCD weirdo, I want fresh herbs.

Not some canned shit that’s labeled McCormick. I want balls-to-the-walls, real deal basil. In fact, sometimes I’ll even buy a little, cutie basil plant…because why the hell not?

Sadly fresh herbs go bad. & they go bad fast.

This is where the olive oil ice cubes come in.

When cooking my spaghetti squash, I like to heat the Rao’s sauce up with a little olive oil. So by freezing the herbs in the olive oil ice cubes, I preserve my herbs longer & don’t have to worry about them turning a nasty color.

See? They’re still pretty green.

And since I’m always one to add a little flare, I threw in some pomegranate seeds ( antioxidants!!! ). Pome seeds rock my world & I love them on EVERYTHING. Pasta, salad, oatmeal, sparkling water, etc.

Ready For Your World To Be Rocked? EVOO Ice Cubes. Yupppp.I’ve used my ice cubes for salad dressing ( they just need to be warmed ) & on pizza ( POME seeds x a tad EVOO x basil?!!! OMG ). Do whatever your little heart desires with these magic cubes.

Directions: grab some non-GMO, organic EVOO, a handful of fresh pomegranate seeds, & diced basil ( it’s up to you on how much; get crazy ) & throw it all in a silicon ice cube holder…wait a few hours…& you’re golden.

First things first: this isn’t a sponsored post ( I’m sure you’ve noticed I’m not too into those- they’re fake, cheesy, & boring ). I really genuinely love & use product by Mrs. Meyer’s.

Oh, & after a year of using them: they work. Just as good as any other sick-o brand.

Welp, here’s the cold hard facts: laundry products are what you wear. Day after day. They’re on your kids at home & school. Where you sleep. And for F’s sake, around WHERE YOU EAT.

(( Think about that next time you throw on a warm, freshly washed by Tide sweater & slurp down some soup while drinking a glass of water— those chemicals are everywhere! )).

Look, I’m not one of those psychos who won’t eat/touch/drink anything with chemicals. But if I’m educated & I can avoid them, then I will.

Thoughts? Am I crazy? Probs. W/ev.

Somehow I seem to get sick on the most inconvenient days ever. Even though there’s a scroll of things I should be doing, I decided to take it easy. In bed. All day.

Oh, & naturally I sent Michael to Whole Foods. With a hell of a list ( my requests: natural cough drops, Suja juices, avocado, organic berries, Throat Coat tea, & twenty billion magazines ). And a few other demands ( I mean, my pillow doesn’t fluff itself ).

All because it’s so easy to get what you want when you’re sickkkkkkk.

I keep saying, “babbbbeeeeee I’m soooo siccckkkkkk” & texting him the sick Emoji face every second. So far it’s working really well. Jajajaja.

Note: I’ll def be investing in an old school bell to ring, annoyingly, next time I’m bedridden. Ring, ring hunny!

Anyway, today I took a day off from the gym but tomorrow I’m dying to do at-home Pilates. I’ve researched if it’s ok to sweat when you have a cold & surprisingly it actually makes cold/cough symptoms disappear quicker.

Hope all of you are washing your hands on the reg & drinking tons of aqua.

Fresh Herbs: Why they Should be in your Fridge ASAP

Poor herbs. They’re often forgotten. Most people will use them if they are around, but typically the aromatic leaves are not usually sought out when grocery shopping…Welp, I’m going to tell you why everyone should have herbs on hand 24/7. Like, if they’re not in your refrigerator now, go run to store & buy some. Why? Here’s why:

++ Herb Benefits [ in appropriate picture order ]:

+ Basil: ahhhh! My most favorite herb. I could inhale the smell for days. Basil has plenty of antioxidants & anti-inflammatory properties. Super, super low calories & cholesterol, but the flavorful leaves contain so many essential nutrients. I’m obsessed with this on brown rice pasta with fresh tomato sauce + lemon.

+ Rosemary: helllllo, vitamins! This savory herb is full of them- think Vitamin A & C . It also has iron, potassium, calcium, & manganese [ an antioxidant ]. Major plus: helps fight off colds, the flu, & depression. Rosemary is fab in fresh bread, salads, & quinoa.

+ Mint: amazing for acne or pimples [ especially mint juice ]. If you’re feeling anxious, it’s known as one of the most calming herbs. I die over a hot cup of mint tea too. The best part? It promotes digestion & freshens breath. Mojito, anyone?

+ Cilantro: maintains a healthy liver, rids bloat, & boosts the immune system. This herb also detoxifies your body [ <<< I am definitely eating some of this tonight! ]. I always put cilantro in my guacamole or salsa.

+ Dill: helps with hiccups, digestion, menstrual cramps, & insomnia. Also dill is a diuretic- the perfect pre-poolside herb. Add some to a cucumber salad before you get into a summer bikini ; ).
