Beauty gurus Ali Matthews, Karen Okonkwo, & Sakura Considine ( in appropriate pic order ) of The Sorority Secrets are on the  blog today! Best of all, we totally swear by the same beauty products ( examps? coconut oil, The Beauty Blender, & Banana Powder ), so I know you’ll love their site.

These girls have fabulous, positive advice from which we can all benefit. Enjoy, lovas:

+ Tell us about Sorority Secrets?

TSS: We are sorority alumni from Arizona State University.  Not only are we sorority sisters, but we’re also very dear friends! Our site talks all about our secrets to life. We cover all sorts of topics, from fashion, to beauty, to cooking, to life tips. Not only do we discuss our own secret tips, but we also feature tips from readers & fellow bloggers/websites!

+ What inspired you all to start blogging?

TSS: We realized that we all have fabulous secrets to share, and we wanted a resource to share these ideas with other women. Not everyone has sorority sisters to go to for advice, so that’s what we’re here for.

+ Skinny tip?

Ali: To feel fit fast, I load up on fruits & veggies! I love a green smoothie for breakfast & a colorful plate of fruit for dessert.

Karen: I absolutely love Isagenix! It is the best health program to keep up with your diet. They supply you all the products you need and let you know when to consume them so you’re always staying disciplined. When you’re really busy, it’s easy to fall off track by eating poorly- Isagenix helps with that. If anyone wants more info on it, let me know.

Sakura: I think the most important thing is to get your head in the game & get motivated every day! Go on Pinterest, find a fitness Instagram account that you like, & look at it before/during the gym! My favorite fitness inspiration Instagram account is @thefitnation!

+ Weekly workout schedule?

Ali: I try to go as many days a week as I can! I am lucky to make my own work schedule, but at the same time it means longer hours. I usually hit the gym before lunchtime, & enjoy making an afternoon out of it on Saturdays.

Karen: I try to workout at least three times a week. I like to workout early in the morning right before I eat breakfast to jumpstart my day. Since I prefer to be lean, I like to do high intensity interval training. High intensity interval training incorporates very intense bouts of exercise & low intensity exercise. The best example would be sprinting for sixty seconds on the treadmill, then walking on the treadmill for thirty seconds.

Sakura: Things have been really hectic lately, but I try to make it to the gym four to five days a week! I do about an hour of low-intensity cardio, nine minute in the exercise room, & end my gym session with twenty minutes in the sauna while I stretch!

+ Healthy food pick?

Ali: I love pineapple! It’s my favorite snack. I also love baby carrots with hummus.

Karen: Turkey meat! I love wrapping my turkey meat in low-fat cheese sticks or eating it with my salad.

Sakura: Almonds, for sure. I just love almost every type of nuts.It’s healthy but in moderation.

+ When it comes to cocktails…

Ali: I’m a tequila kind of girl.

Karen: Mojito, please!

Sakura: I rarely drink, but I love grapefruit so I would have to say a Greyhound!

+Motivation to sweat?

Ali: Clothes! Fashion is my first love, so feeling good in the clothes I love to wear is important to me.

Karen: I always use a special occasion to motivate me. My birthday is always a great excuse & for those that know me, I start planning my birthday nine months in advance ;-).

Sakura: A partner in crime. It’s always better when you have a friend with you to motivate you to stay on track. Be accountable for each other!

+ Best beauty product evvverrr?

Ali: Victoria’s Secret SPF 20 Primer. It creates the perfect velvety-smooth canvas for applying makeup, & I love the added sunscreen as a bonus.

Karen: Basis cleanser- with a couple of squirts, Basis cleans off makeup from every part of your face ( including your eyelashes, which is very important to me being a mascara wearer ) & it’s super cheap.

Sakura: Well, I shared it on The Sorority Secrets, but definitely my Bed Head Super Star Volumizing Serum! It’s the best product ever to get that volume.  I’ve used it since I was in middle school!

+ Natural beauty remedy?

Ali: There’s a mud mask called ‘Dead Sea Warehouse Amazing Minerals Mud Mask‘ ( I buy it at Sprout’s ) that I’m in love with! It’s all natural & makes your skin feel baby soft.

Karen: Every night, before I go to sleep, I absolutely have to floss! I’m obsessed with keeping my teeth clean. I also have to moisturize my face too, so my go-to moisturizer is MAC Complete Comfort Creme.

Sakura: I drink a lot of green tea. Not only does it taste amazing, it’s so great for you; for skin, energy levels, & digestion.

+ Tell, tell. What’s in your makeup bags?

Ali: I always carry two things with me… MAC lipstick in ‘Angel’, & a small travel hairbrush.  You never know when you will need a touch-up!

Karen: I’m a bit obsessive with lip gloss so I have about six different lip glosses in my makeup bag. My favorite brand is Victoria’s Secret Pink Lemonade gloss. You can smell it from a mile away.

Sakura: Besides the basics, something that I always have with me is my favorite mascara, eyeliner, & my all-time favorite lipgloss- Pink Whisper 130 by Revlon!

+ Quick recipe?

Ali:  My favorite green smoothie: loads of spinach, almond milk, a tablespoon of peanut butter, and half a banana. It tastes decadent, and nothing like spinach!

Karen: Lettuce wraps spread with hummus and topped with diced grilled chicken. YUM!

Sakura: Avocado spread over whole-wheat toast!
